--- What is a Grimalkin? ---
A grimalkin is, by technicality, is simply an old name for "old female cat." However, what makes them unique is they're known for being large, grey, and known for their preference toward the ethereal.
Some people will recognize the name from Jim Butcher's books, some may know them from Guild Wars 2, but I came to know them through DND as a playable race.

I have loved and lost two horses in my life. Both chose me to be their friend and I was blessed with their time. Sham was a gorgeous grey Arab and Dozer was a spicy bay Quarter Horse.
