You have to equip your horse with a Saddle, a Bridle and a Saddle Cloth if you want to enter it in competitions. The Polo Wraps and Ear Bonnet are optional, they are not needed, but they will give your horse an extra competition bonus which will be used in competitions.



The better tack you give your horse, the better competition bonus it will get. There are 1*, 2** and 3*** Saddles and Bridles, 3*** tack will be the best but most expensive. For Saddle Cloths, Polo Wraps and Ear Bonnets you have only 1* and 2** tack. The number of stars of the tack indicate how much bonus they give in each skill, so the 1* tack will give +1 bonus, the 2** tack gives +2 bonus, and the 3*** tack gives +3 bonus. Note that if you give your horse a 2** Saddle Cloth, 2** Polo Wraps and a 2** Ear Bonnet, who have the same color, your horse will receive a color bonus. This too will help your horse in competitions, the color bonus gives +2 in all skills.
