I'm saying that there's always a need for pass-buyers AND non-pass-buyers. Without the non-pass-buyers, there wouldn't be a sense of community, and without the pass-buyers, there'd be no game.

I honestly could care less if they take away objectives. Yeah, they are a great training tool, but they are still a pain and a hassle, and I know quite a few people who have played before who rejoined recently and are annoyed at having to go through them, again.

I remember riding levels! I got all the way up to 10, and they took it away and said they would leave an indicator on your page to show you got there, then they released objectives and it was gone. -sad-

As is being stated by a few cool headed people. No one HAS to give anything to anyone. However, the more often you complete those daily objectives the better chance you have at better prizes later. I am glad to hear the cards will not be leaving, they are by far my favorite promo. And I like the idea of a server wide goal. I have always liked a game that nudges their community a bit closer together.

No, not pride. It's just... like... common sense, I guess. It was lots of fun to do objectives. Some of them were maddening *cough*breed a uni*cough*, but I liked them. It gave me good stuff. Why take that away? And I agree with what some people were saying earlier: newer players might not get to under stand the game better. What are they gonna do about that?? Maybe they will do the beggining thing different; make it longer. I dunno, it seems like a bad idea. And having to donate to newer players?? DON'T get me started. :3

I agree. but I know that there will always be non pass buyers (like me) and I am very tired of seeing little banners all over the place saying that they think pass buyers are stealing all the opportunity for non buyers to succeed. I want this game to continue, and that necessitates pass buyers. I am fine with people saying that they got everything without passes and that they are proud of that, I am just tired of seeing people bash the people who are paying to keep the game free for others.

If the server wide goal is like what they do in the Pinatas, that would be cool. :3

Yeah that would be neat! I am sorta thinking it might be like potter more? where each of the houses competes to win the house cup. only instead of fourths of the community trying to beat each other, we each try to get the whole community to a reward we would all share in.

sarah-I was like that, too... once. Then I read MORPHEUS's statement.
After that, I set a goal: 400 in the General Rankings.
And then I set a reward: Buy passes.

And if they think pass buyers are stealing the opportunity for non-pass-buyers to succeed, I *personally* know someone who is in the top 100 in General Rankings and hasn't bought a single pass.
AND I am fairly high up (nine spots from my goal) with a ViP account that I managed to renew before the lottery quit. I got some nice stuff from that, too.

Hallaloth - the grammar nerd in me has to correct you for a moment. Saying you "could care less" means that you do care. The better phrase is, "couldn't care less."

Am I the only one then who doesn't have a problem with the idea of giving equus and items to new players? I kind of understand if people don't want to, and remember it's not mandatory, but it seems really nice to me. I wish I had had the ability to be helped out by other players when I was new. Giving equus/items to new players seems like a great idea to me. I'd be super happy to help out when I can.

I enjoyed the objectives. They help newer players learn a bit more about Howrse. Plus, you need to earn your way to the trophies. I say that Howrse needs to keep the objectives. Maybe we can only have 50???......

I actually have this set up, but rarely do I find anyone that qualifies: exactly 30 days. 30 days is when the safety net drops, so I give them a horse of their favorite breed and objective help for a day. They can join my objective help program afterwards if they wish.
With the new implementation, the objective help will be obsolete and I might have to upgrade it to a horse of their favorite breed and a unicorn of their favorite uni breed, provided I have that at the time.

You've got that down ^_^ And there's lots of people who're giving out unicorns... Maybe a... Rare Breed Coalition Project? Taking the rarest breeds and giving them to newer players? My First Donkey Project? Giving new players their first pair of donkeys? Hmm... ARBA-American Rare Breed Association-Normally given to the dog partnership that does that... Probably couldn't have that...

So this all starts on June 11th?? I like the challenge part, but I really liked the objectives. I need to finish FAST!
