I had no problems with the Cursed sands one and it wasn't any more expensive than the other ones that were around at that time.

The Wanderers one was not only very expensive it completely disrupted the comps. Not just the divine comps but ALL comps for 2 weeks. They were a total shamble.

Now with the comps being in a worse position it will be a disaster.

The M___ one coming next is going to be the most expensive of them all and I truly have mixed feeling on even making a serious attempt at it.

I was not spending passes at the time of the Cursed Sands so I can't speak to its expense, but it was a fun promo to play in my opinion. If the upcoming one is similar I am looking forward to that.

I agree. I think I'm just going to go after the prizes and save up diamonds and passes for the next one (I love my Solars!). Too bad. The horse is pretty, but pixels are pixels. It's hard not to get into the competitve aspect of these things, though.

So, it wouldn't be a good idea to get the Wanderers back? Drat. They sounded more reasonable...well, maybe. I guess I was very much mistaken.

Wanderers honestly was dull for me. It was nice having objectives to work towards, but those objectives never change.

A typical non-complete line up of wanderer objectives: Log in 10 days during the promo, Open 25 Hops, Groom/Stroke (it varies) x number of horses based on the number of horses you have, Enter x number of comps based on the number of horses you own, bring 8 horses to the age of 50, Be congratulated x number of times (varies), Give an apple to x number of horses, A few times there has been a give birth to 8+ unicorns. And there were a few other random obscure tasks I cannot remember.

Expensive promo? That depends on where you are. Extra points are usually given out in Hops 3-5 points give or take for any wanderer you do not already have. Not the most expensive, but not the most exciting either and Cyber is right that comps get impossible for the weeks the promo runs. You will not get much blupping done unless you have a skillor.

I'd have to agree with Aly37. I had less than 50 days of seniority, therefore, no ways of getting passes without real money. Plus, I was saving up my passes so I could use the gp, when I had enough seniority. But, I still think that was a really fun promo.

Last time around, it was comps/foal games/congrats/apple/give carrot/birth unicorn/dewing Pegasus/age to 80 (not 50...)/rides/login/feather collecting (flash sales, I think...? and there was another way to get them)/collecting all the others... I think there was only 12.

It was my favorite promo, honestly, and I never had any problems with the comps; I could BLUP fairly well. Though I did have problems with EC's; the EC's were filled up for most of the promo and I had to wake up at 0600 every morning to get good EC's or EC's with carrots (this was way before reserves merged). At least I had my own EC for the carrots at the time.

Opening HoP's was one, yeah, so there had to be more than 12... I just can't remember them all.

Shouldn't old promos be discussed in the historical Howrse topic rather than the spoiler zone? We want to stay on topic, after all.

I think I'm just going to wait for reserved sales for the Divine in the upcoming promo. Even a plain old TC or HoP offer will probably be less expensive than finishing the promo.

The prize list is ok, I just wish they would offer EC related gifts more often like they did this time. It would be nice to be able to win 3* boxes, upgrading sure does get expensive. Horseshoes would be nice also.

Extra horseshoes for the GC, I'm assuming. Though considering they're toning down the GC, that would be semi-obsolete as well... (and aren't they doing away with GC horseshoes?)

I really didn't like the Great Challenge either...AT ALL. It got old after a bit and the same people won every time or so it seemed.
