Cyber - is the equus amount listed in the third column the amount your materials cost to produce the item(s) or is that the anticipated amount received?

This would be really cool - if they had a column for production costs and another column for estimated sales (gross) - You could see at a glance the difference between cost and gross sales and then see the actual anticipated profit.

This does not take into consideration of resources, just the manufacturing time and end profit and cost per hour to actually to this action.

You will have to determine the resources you have and what would be viable for you.

Your comment is exactly what the Int Mod Shorah posted on prepod. Here is what she posted in its entirety( who did the screenshot by the way)

I do think though that Howrse is trying to not get into a blurred amount of info that ends up making the feature too complicated. Many players will still be lost even with what they are planning. ( I just happen to be a student of economics so may have an edge on understanding this).

Also - I feel it would be better if it showed the current 'resale' price of the item as opposed to its selling price in the Store (which is what is sold now under the 'Production Sale Value' section.

Take 1* boxes for example -

The current production sale value for a Small Workshop is 1,322e

The small workshop makes 1 small box in 3 hours
The current price of buying a 1* Box from the store is 1,322e

But when I go to sell my box back to the store - the usual rule of 'The shop will buy back everything that you no longer use for 50 % of its value' applies.

So this means if I sell that box back - I actually only receive 661e as opposed to the full buying price of 1,322e

If I do the math of resource cost vs. sale price:

661e sale price
500e for resources (250e for 25x Wood - 250e for 25x Sand)

Actual profit made; 161e

*Here's my numbers from the International version with a Large Workshop showing the same thing that they were bought back at 1/2 the cost;

12th May 2015
The 3 x Box 1* crafted in one of your workshops sold for 1 983 equus.

If we divide that by 3 - we get the price of 661e per box (same as on here right now)

Also, the 'Average profit per hour of production' is the same as it is based on the full price of the item in the store when buying it as opposed to the true 'resell price'. In addition - there are a lot of errors with that. Using 1* Boxes again...

The page states that it takes 2 Hours to craft a 1* Box - this is not true, it takes 3 hours to craft a 1* box. In addition - even if it did only take 2 hours...the profit of 550e per hour is also incorrect (550 + 550 = 1100...we're still 222e short of the actual profit. The correct 'profit per hour' would be 440e at the proper 3 hour mark...661e at the 2 hour mark..

The correct correct numbers (that is - the actual Production Sale Value and Average profit per hour of production) would be:

Production Sale Value = 661e
Average profit per hour production = 220e

*I do understand that these are just estimates as according to the page (as some numbers can't be calculated truly (that 220e should actually be 220.33) - but even as such, some of them are way off on how much of an actual profit one makes.

This is my only complaint about the new features - everything else, I like (well, I lack a Western EC so I can't say if I like the aspect of Calves and Cutting but default smiley default smiley :))

Thanks Cyber - I have to agree with her - if the amount being shown is what the items sell for to someone buying them - NOT what the player selling to the store is being paid - then that is worthless information. It needs to show the ESTIMATED amount the player selling the items to the store will receive when the items are sold.

The profit per hour - at least to really doesn't mean anything. To me at least the best would columns show cost of resources / time to build / estimated amount to be paid.

In my opinion that would be the simplest system especially for younger players as it lays out the actual pertinent information.

For us adults, yes we can do the math - but a simple cost vs income set up would probably be easier for younger players to grasp.

does anyone know if we're still getting a draft horse and when if we are? default smiley ^)
By Retired breeder, May 15, 2015 19:43:43
We're getting the Percheron in an upcoming Maze promo, that will probably start next Monday. We know we're getting the Shire, but, not how or when.
By Retired breeder, May 15, 2015 20:21:20
This is kind of a dumb question, but if your horse doesn't make it out of the maze, will you get it back? Or will you lose it forever?
By Retired breeder, May 15, 2015 20:36:32
1
It's been posted that as of right now you Will Not be allowed back in the maze once or if you finish.

I'm fairly certain you aren't giving up the horse to do a promo. You should get your horse back at the end of the promo.

Your horse does not leave your account. Its image simply gets used as the image of the horse moving through through the maze. It is not actually being put somewhere.

That's not what the player was asking.

Btw Hallaloth I think you quoted the wrong thing...?

Really??
Sorry about that... A correction wasn't necessary though seeing as the correct information was posted. I apologize for misreading the question.

So confusing!
You'd think they'd do a clydesdale...
They better add them soon! They've been talking about them for so long, I'm gonna explode!

OMIGOSH thank you so much!
My thoughts on the promo after next after some testing.

Click to display
The time between going up in tools ( scuba, water tanks etc) is too long ( up to 2 days to wait)

You DO get more digs per time when allowed 9 10).

There are 162 bones and each one must be dug up 3 times for it to fully register. ( but you do not have to get 162 x 3 just that a bone in the neck for example will need to be found 3 times before that one bone shows up completely.

This will be very pass oriented.

I will post more as I go farther into the promo.

Ok, so about how many passes will we be needing for the M? Someone said 15 (or was it 20?) minimum, but is that passes or Titan's Challenges (if TC's, then that would mean 30 passes -- default smiley :s)? I'm guessing that they meant TC's, since a lot of players posted 40 passes, but I'm not entirely sure. Sorry to sound so stupid; I just want some clarification on this before I decide if I would like to try or not to get Lovely Blue.

Also, any estimates (rough estimates) on how many passes it will take to finish the next promo (the one after the M)? Also, what "currency" will we be using (TC's, HoP's, Golden Fleece, etc.)? I understand if it hasn't been revealed yet, I was just wondering if by any chance someone did know...

Until 21/05/2015 15:42, buy a set of 3 mines for only one pass. Each mine allows you to perform an additional search. In addition, the mine allows you to more easily find bones and gifts, and avoid unpleasant surprises!

Oh, boy...these upcoming promos are going to be extremely expensive for anyone wanting to finish them. Well, at least they'll probably be fun, for what little I'll get to do without spending actual cash. The creators have to pay the bills somehow, but so do we.

Here are some calculations from one of the testers and their feeling on this promo--( the one after the one coming Monday or thereabouts).

From Shorah( Int Mod)

If you break it down a bit further and balance pass use with regular digs.

Say this promotion is running for 2 weeks - that's 14 days.

Let's keep with the current tool that gives 10 digs a day. This is a total of 140 digs.

We'll say that we get a bone 6 out of the 10 digs - so this is 6 bones per day.

The skeleton takes 162 bones...

6 x 14 = 84 Bones

So we're short 78 bones.

Now - each Pass spent on mine packs gives you 3 digs...For easy math - we'll say you find a bone with 2 out of the 3 mines each time.

So to make up those 78 bones...You'd need to use about 39 passes.

That's a lot better than the 100+ of using nothing but passes to go from start to finish.

*Note, these are just basic calculations and should not be taken as fact. This is strictly meant as a sort of 'guide' to show that the actual event would not be as expensive.

Here is the comparison from the Cursed sands we had a while ago and her thoughts on this promo compared to the Sands one.

Things I like about this vs. the original Cursed Sands

1. More digs per time with the upgraded tools. According to another website - when it came to the Cursed Sands..the tool upgrades were;

none: one excavation every 12 hours

toothbrush?: two excavations every twelve hours

paintbrush: three excavations every twelve hours

shovel: three excavations every six hours; costs 20 relics

pickax: four excavations every six hours; costs 35 relics

jackhammer: four excavations every four hours; costs 50 relics

Right now - it was only a trade of 1 relic, and the tool I have (if I'm translating right - is 10 digs every 24 hours...way better than the original at the start of just 2 to 4 digs per 24 hours with the basic tools)

2. More options to complete the objectives if a trap is found. WIth the original - I recall the only options were do the objective, or wait out the time. This one has the 'do objective option' - pay equus option - and *for me at least* watch a video option (I think there was also the wait it out option).

things I don't like about this;

1. Very tedious.

2. Short of my first dig - I've yet to find any sort of prize. All I've found is mostly relics and a handful of bones. Not exactly a bad thing (as it means better tools) but not exactly a good thing either.

Meh, either way - it's nice to have a different promotion that usual, and great to see a return of an oldie.

Now while I could quote other replies Shorah's post is the best and easiest to understand. Some replies were just a bit extreme.

Seems to me Howrse has been heading in that direction for awhile now... Every promo keeps taking more and more passes to finish... And I'm sure none of us have forgotten having all of the Mythos Divines on Level SEVEN of the TCs....

Thanks for the update though. I was still on hiatus during the Cursed Sands promo so this one coming up after next will be totally new for me and any information to prepare is really appreciated. default smiley (y)
I'd love to complete the Rainbows but if the pass spending doesn't calm down I won't be able to keep up. Barely have so far with keeping my VIP account active... *Goes to age more pass horses*
By Retired breeder, May 16, 2015 23:34:18
Ok, thank you all so much! Now that I think back, I realize that I had seen that screenshot with the mines, but I completely forgot about it! It does sound like a lot of passes to finish the next promo, though -- ouch!

What about the M? About how much will that cost? I'm still debating about which one to try to go for... I have finally saved up 25 passes, although I might be able to get 6-12 more with some hard work and spending... if I can afford the M, I'll go for it!

The Treat is VERY helpful default smiley (y)

^See on the map in the bottom right corner, that's as far as I got with one horse in one go. The horse I used had 6021 skills. *Edit: of course this was on International, so our horses don't have that many skills*
By Retired breeder, May 16, 2015 23:48:20

I think they said around 30...
How long is the "M" supposed to run?

The test server closed on May 7th (as you can see in the first image I posted), and you could ask a "Testserverian" (my new name for them default smiley (lol)) when they started, and how long theirs ran. Ours will probably star this Monday...
