Also, I think I will very much enjoy the change to the mailbox. Not exactly the shaking part, but I wanna be able to just click a button to take me to my mail instead of having to go through community>my private mailbox

I will certainly like the fact I can just click my mailbox. i hate when UFO's get in the way. I am not a fan of the shaking part thoughhh

True, although I had heard in the past that Howrse was not supposed to be a social media platform - hence why we have restricted use forums and only a simple messaging system. I wonder if they will remove the mailbox link from the community menu then?

Well it may not be a platform, it is still a community system and since it shows better reception to have a mail icon permanent it is likely the reason for the change.

To the question, the link in the community dropbox is still present.

I dont think the shaking will bother me (seeing as i get and amazing 1 PM a week.) But i LOVE that they will have the icon open!

Whenever I click on my "you have mail" icon in the corner, it opens my mailboxdefault smiley (o) Does it not open yours?

Here's the *quickest* map for the Horus Maze :3 I've marked the path for the main entrance as well as the teleporter entrance, using the least amount of paces/time possible. Step count and time information as well:

The area marked in red is because it will make no difference in time and only depends on which gift you would rather get.

Main entrance step count: 118 (2360 paces - 19.7 days to complete)
Teleporter entrance step count: 55 (1100 paces - 9.2 days to complete)

And of course the time count is for if no passes are used.

The amount of horseshoes the community manages to collect by the time the festivities begin will determine how many draws there are. We can end up with as little as 1 draw a day to 4. The target goals for each increase on the test server is geared towards Int, so there is no way of knowing what the target numbers will be here, but something to think about. Hopefully people will not just finish their puzzle and be done

Also kind of annoying - like before it was the same amount of draws no matter what and people could participate or not as they felt like it. Now it's almost kind of forcing participation- if folks don't participate, everyone suffers. Really not loving the direction Howrse is going with these, makes it a lot less fun

It will permanently be at the top of every page, and it will start spazing when you get mail.

Typically the draws were 3 a day if I recall the last several GCs, I doubt that the Target Goal for that will be too much beyond what we have had in the past. Getting the 4th draw might require a little more participation.

Beginner Competitions

Genetic potential is now taken into account for entry into beginner competitions.

In order to make beginner horse competitions more interesting for horses with low genetic potential, entry requirements will also take genetic potential into account.

In order to enter a beginner competition, horses will therefore need:

► fewer than 20 wins
► a genetic potential of less than 700 in each of their 6 skills
► under 700 in every skill

This value will increase regularly depending on breed evolution.

Update: Based on community feedback, the Rookie Competition change is canceled.
