► Individual jumping
► Team jumping
► Hunter Endurance

With ponies!

We removed the random selection of the competitions, so they will appear one after the other, always in the same order.

Participate in the championship

You receive tickets each day for use with participation in the competitions. You can use the tickets the same day or whenever you want until the contest is finished.

You win those tickets:

► when you log in for the first time each day (4)
► when grooming a horse (limited to 2 a day)
► when training horses (it doesn't matter how long) (limited to 2 a day)

To enter in a competition you:

► select the pony you want
► choose the competition
► you lose a ticket

You can choose a pony on their page or on the contest page.

Unlike other competitions:

► taking part in a competition in this event does not use up any of the pony's day, nor does it use up any energy
► you are not limited to 2 horses for the same competition
► the pony will not lose any morale in these competitions, no matter what place the pony finishes in
►ponies that are non-specialised/are not wearing tack can enter these competitions

Individual show jumping and hunter

For each competition, you can see:

► the difficulty of the competition
► the minimum and maximum skill levels needed to enter the competition
► the competition's prize pool points

Team show-jumping

When you have chosen a pony you have access to 5 different teams. You can see the others already subscribed horses before choosing the team you will enter. There are 4 ponies in the same team.

Competitions wins

You receive points depending on:

► the difficulty of the competition
► the ranking of the pony (or the team)

You accumulate the points to unblock gift from the game.

The VIP perk for the divine horse Huanglong does not apply to these competition winnings.

Preparing the pony bonus

Before entering a pony in a competition, you have the opportunity of getting a “Preparation” bonus, either::

► by preparing the horse for the competition, in the form of a mini-game chosen from among the 5 following:

Grooming
Plaiting
Button plaiting
Picking out hooves
Learning the course

► by using a ticket

The bonus only applies to the competition in question. It confers:

+40 for jumping
+40 for gallop
+40 endurance


If you have not managed to complete the mini-game before the time runs out, the mini-game will stop and the pony will not receive the bonus.

You then always have the option to:

► restart the mini-game
► use a ticket to get the bonus directly
► give up by closing the pop-up

Encouragement bonus

Before entering their horse into the competition, you also have the chance to obtain an “Encouragement” bonus:

► either by requesting help from friends in order to encourage the pony, which costs 300 Equus
► or by using a ticket

When you click on the “Request encouragement” button, an encouragement request is sent to all of your friends.

The “Encouragement” button then switches to the “pending” state until a friend responds to the encouragement request.

When a friend accepts the request, the horse will receive an “Encouragement” bonus, which only applies to the competition in question. This bonus confers:

+40 for trot
+40 for speed

Prizes

After a certain number of points have been accumulated through competitions, you move up a threshold. At each new threshold, you win 2 prizes.

The final threshold rewards you with the divine horse Pisces.

Golden horseshoes (for the event trophy) can be won at certain point thresholds.


Pisces

Pisces is a female divine horse who can give birth to Aries when bred with Aquarius.

Favorite searches have been improved.

Favorite searches are a universal perk for VIP accounts, which allow the players to save their searches for horse sales or equestrian center registration, for example.

► Favorite searches can now be used for the public coverings page.

This feature has benefited from some ergonomic improvements.

When you use a favorite search, the 'more criteria' section in the search area no longer scrolls (which was sometimes irritating when boarding horses), players can now cancel a search on the equestrian center registration page and in the creation directory, and so on.

Several changes to competitions

For players with less than 30 days' seniority

To help you to navigate with the world of competitions, we have made accessing it better adapted to your needs.

The following will be prioritized in your display:

► competitions for beginner horses (as long as the horse has access to this)
► the least difficult competitions

Players are still able to alter these filters manually.

Tip: in order to enter a beginner competition, horses need:

► fewer than 20 victories
► under 710 in every skill

For Bluppers

If you don't want to see beginner competitions at all, simply double click on the box. This should give you more strategic options by giving you access to more or fewer competitions depending on whether these competitions are visible or not.

For Grand Prix fans

To make it easier to check on the performance of your champions, the score achieved is now displayed in the results table for the Grand Prix.

Fouls and penalties are displayed for Show-jumping and the Western Pleasure competitions.

Tip: Entry into the Grand Prix can be found, with a bit of luck, in Horns of Plenty.


Time limit management for the different game features has been made consistent

Some game actions are limited to a certain number for a given period. These time limits sometimes used different systems (sliding days or fixed time periods). To make this easier to understand, we have decided to base all time limits on a fixed time period. Therefore:

► The limit in terms of item donation and exchanges is calculated based on a Monday to Sunday time frame, which was already the case before. From now on, this is also the case for donating items to friends.
► The calculation for the number of passes received for horses who died after reaching 30 years old is now calculated based on the 1st until last day of the month. Therefore, you will no longer need to count the passes you received from this over the last thirty days.
► The Safe Haven stroke is no longer calculated based on the last 24 hours but starting from the daily update.
► Getting karma points is still based on the last 30 days in order to avoid the temptation to break the rules at the end of the month and get a point quickly default smiley
► The pass that is free with the Equus reserve is always based on the last 30 login days.

Howrse‘s design layout is going to be undergoing a gradual overhaul in the next few months!

We are going to make a start this month to make it look even better and make it easier to navigate by improving the game header, navigation bar, background and the page footer.

Header

The header has been reorganized for better visibility:

► Improved access to contests and different events that are currently running via arrows which allow players to switch from one banner to another.
► Credit your reserve or visit the passes page more easily by clicking on the +. The passes page will, therefore, be removed from the Trade tab. If you have a large reserve of Equus, this might sometimes be cut off in the header. But you will be able to see the total amount in a tooltip if you hover over it with your cursor. It is also visible on the Credit Equus page.
► Access to all your account settings, including your profile page (by clicking on your avatar) and the logout option.

Subscriptions

► Subscriptions can be accessed via My account to make it easier to find them.
► Your subscription stands out better: a color border has been added (golden for VIPs, silver for Pegasus) to the navigation bar and a logo now appears in the same color under the name of the game.

Co-management

You can see more easily that you are on a co-managed account thanks to:

► A logo under the name of the game in the header, a border on the navigation bar
► Details at the bottom of the page. All of this will be colored red.

You can also see the features that are not accessible to a co-manager more easily, as these will have a padlock locked on them; for example, this will appear on private messages and pass purchasing.

Help manuals

The game help manuals and FAQs will be more visible as they will be moved to a separate menu by the navigation bar as a question mark.

Private mailbox

As the private mailbox is always available in the game header, it will be removed from the Community tab.

Background and page footer

The colors and texture of the game's background image have been changed.

The page footer has been reorganized, and links towards social networks have been added to it.


And lastly

Use forum features more easily

We have added buttons to the forums that help you use tags more easily: (img), (url) and (spoiler). These features are also easier to use when you post a new topic or reply.

These tags allow you to include the following on the forums:

► a picture for the tag(img)
► a link for the tag (url)
► hidden content (for other players who don't click on it) for the tag (spoiler)

Is the 'pony' description a species restriction? Will riding horses not be able to enter?

I think it's just a misstranslation, because I see only 'pony pony pony' and yet I entered todays races with a HORSE.

Basically.

Pick your horse (pony pegasus unicorn winged thingy) -> prep him.
Enter in a competition. Example, pick the 70% diffcult one.

You will be shown a selection of Teams you can enter in with your horse.

Team A has 3 members already, and they're so so
Team B has 2 members, but they're all good.
Team C has 3 horses, but all bad
Team D has just this one horse, but it's the best in game.

Pick one, and then your TEAM will be matched up against the others.

Once the match is over (all the horses have competed and I'm assuming the times are then summed up and faults are added) the winning Team will take the first prize and so on so forth.

The others are just like old times, Battle royale everypony for himselfI think the other one is to compensate if you have good or not so good horses.
Since it's a TEAM race you can fill your own Team with 4 different horses and not to fear for second third or fourth place, but rack 4 first places all together.

If you only get 4th places with your horsey, you can compensate by picking a strong team.

It's the same concept, just with Teams you need to pick

Equs or reserve display.

right now I have 95,449,041 equs.

With the new display that will show as 95,449K and you will think you lost a lot of reserve.

Yeah I noticed that too on the test server! Threw me off!

went on a spending spree to see how the display changes with different amounts. Once you are below 1,000,000 equus the entire amount is displayed without any "K's"
