I understand that only a handful of players GP race here, but on Intl it is much more serious and integral to the game.

It is kinda funny to me how people complain about a game that suddenly offers competition. I played on another game where I had the top horses in about 8 or 9 different breeds? Out of 73, and a lot of those breeds had ONE dedicated player that had no competition whatsoever. Having been 'at the top' It gets ludicrously boring. I had top rate foals that no one wanted, and my pricing was 'fair' for the economy the game had.

Now granted, Howrse is a different game. But in all actuality, I bet if people actually ran the numbers they would see just how little something like this is going to affect top teams specifically. Are there going to be a casual breeders that get a GP boost? Yeah, and they'll be happy for it. The average player is not going to win K____, how many people win divines and now and never touch them? The number is higher than most people realize. Sure, some of those foals are going to end up in sales. . .but how many of them are going to get bought at what will become 'base line' GP? I cannot even get mid-range GP foals to sell /now/ in an already saturated market.

The average unicorn breeder does not care about GP. And the casual breeder is not going to make a huge profit on unicorns. Most people who like the idea of unicorn breeding get quickly discourage by a string of 10+ fail. Even a dedicated unicorn breeder gets a bit annoyed to have a mare throw out 17+ hornless foals. It happens.

People thought foundie GP increasing would ruin the top teams. Has not really done much to them.

Granted. If foundation unicorns are given out at the GP of regular foundations. . .that gives a lot of people outside of teams a sizable increase. . . but how many breed multiple breeds of unicorns? It is a LOT to manage a breeding line in every breed. I look back on foals of mine that get purchased. . . probably 70-80% of them have never been aged much less bred. Granted I do not have near as many foals out there are some. . . but I still doubt this will be the 'all ending catastrophe' people think it will be.

Personally, as a dedicated breeder who breeds for GP I would like to see a GP increase go around for a while. I have spent a ton of resources trying to keep my bloodlines going because a lot of them are getting to the point I just cannot find public covers, meaning I also have to blup a stud occasionally.

Our foundation release is around 1156 right now I believe. I would give anything to be able to find a Shagya Arabian stud offering covers in that range. Or an Irish Hunter, Holstiners. The smaller servers do not have the player base that Int does,

I imagine Int could use a nudge to keep its dedicated breeders engaged and have goals to keep ahead of competition. The smaller servers need a bit of a kickstart. Most unicorn breeds have one MAYBE two dedicated teams behind them with many of them have more than 500 point gap between 1st and 2nd if not more.

I would rather see a competitive market then one monopolized by one set of teams. The more competition the better the market is for the buyer, and at this point when unicorns are becoming a dime a dozen. . . quality does not mean all that much at this point.

Hey, this is just something I found off of another person, which means I'm not sure if it's true or not:

Well, I wasn't really a fan of these types of promos. The only ones I really look forward to is the GC and the upcoming promo. I guess the Maze too. And was anyone here for the Egyptian Digging site one? I hate to be picky, but these promos are the ones that are more random and the best time for me to stack up on BMIs. Others seem pretty pass-heavy and money based, or maybe I'm doing them wrong.
As a person who hasn't spent a penny on this game yet (Unless you count supporting their partner offers), I feel I don't have much right to complain. Since I was able to complete sponsor offers this year, I hope to have a different perspective of these events.

It depends on what you want out of a promo. I agree that the more 'randomized' or 'luck' based promos are much better for stocking on BMI, That is one reason I love the Lottery and Cards as much as I do.

However if you are aiming to actually /finish/ the promo the more luck based ones can be incredibly random in the number of passes needed. The current Wanderers there are people (with a BMI stock mind) who have reported finishing in less than 15 passes. The last Halloween Promo I believe was one we calculated out to needing only something like 17 passes IF you took full advantage of help offered and did not needless spend passes to just get the candy and instead wait until each pass gave you the most point possible. It was actually a very cost effective promo, just a lot smaller of a gift pool.

I never did get why players complain about having to spend money for divines on here Most just get one & they collect dust anyways. People who don't (or can't) spend the money for those divines get mad when it isn't handed to them, yet, they'd probably do the same thing.

I used to be one of those types of players that complained about the divines not being easy to get/able to get them for free...

Then I got a job, bought my own passes, & obtained several divines, my first ever was Sapphire when it was first released years ago on INT. Let me just tell you, I've since gotten smarter about choosing which promos to spend money on & which ones not to.

Are all divines extremely valuable to all players evenly? pssh, no.

Are some divines worth more than others to certain players? Absolutely.

A top player doesn't really need (& probably wouldn't want) a divine that has anything to do with GP. Why? They've already got the GP jump start, it would be of no value to them. But some top players do collect these divines for the trophies.

A lower-seniority player that buy passes such as myself wouldn't spend the money to get a divine that has anything to do with GP, seeing as how that's where my passes go.

In a nutshell, what my unintended rant is about is if you think it's valuable, pay for it. I fyou don't, then don't. No need for complaints.

I agree with you Win3271996. If it's worth that much to you, you'll save enough passes to buy it. I'd love to win and win the divine that gives unis that you don't have yet. And that's why I've started saving my passes and trying to sell equines for passes. It means enough for me to work for it. (But I don't really like it's looks though...)

Howrse should offer pass seeds as prizes for some of the promos. I think that'd be really nice. Maybe 5x at a time, but they're early a couple promos later and someone can get a nice pass

Will there be any more Celtic divines?

Probably, but maybe will not be released soon.

I'm pretty sure they told us there would only be five. But I have only seen that reposted on spoiler forums, I've never seen it in an official capacity.

If I recall on the Celtic divine page they had going when the Celtic's were being released it only suggested there would be 5 total. Lately they have done alternating sets. And as we have plant divines and the next new set being released it seems like the Celtics will be done. However, I am not sure anything official was stated ever either.

I wish that the didn't come out with new divines so often. It would be much more exciting to see what the new divine was if it didn't come out for every promo. It would be nice if you could get some of the better value divines that can't be sold (like wind and water divines) through promos instead of only winning new divines in the promos. It would also give people trying to maintain the "all divines" trophy a bit of a break, plus a better chance for them to re-try for a divine they missed.

The next promo sounds interesting, but I was kinda hoping it would be the G____ C______ and L______. That was by far the best promo I've seen yet and I got lots of BMIs from it even though I hardly had any resources to do the challenges.
