This is the Derby

Each day of the contest, the players can take part in races X free. X = from 1 to 4 according to the number of horseshoes collected by the community at the time of the phase of the Great challenge. (Note: if a player does not use his 4 free races, they disappear the following day. There is no office plurality).
Then, they must pay to take part in more races. The price starts to 50 Equus, it is multiplied by 4 for each new race (including the automatic races), with a maximum of 300.000 Equus, it is re-initialized with the daily update.
The players are registered with a race while clicking on the button “To start”. Then, they choose the horse which they want to register (among 4 colors) and they again click on the button “To start”.

You win flags starting at 11 for 5th place going to 15 for first.

1350 fkags needed to win the divine

11-15 flags per race x 1-4 freebies per day = 11-60 flags per day for free.

Assuming the Derby runs the same length of time as the festivities you'll get 5 days

55-300 free flags

1350/5 = 270 flags PER day

1350- 270 = 1080 flags you will need to pay equus to obtain

1080/11 or 15 = 99-72 races you will need to partake in using equus

Split that over the (assumed) 5 days 15-20 races per day.

Assuming it starts at 50 equus multiplies by 4 each race you begin with a 300k cap.
By race 7 you'll have spent 273,050.

Which leads me to believe the Derby, is likely longer than a 5 day thing. But still, that is only for an additional 7 races each day, remember even placing 1st, you need 72 races to get the total number of flags needed.

From what I am seeing, I hope the derby 'phase' lasts 10 days. You'll still be paying a small fortune, but if you have a decent equus reserve it should be possible.

However, I'm still confused on how this promo works. S0 you need the flags in order to win the derby? How exactly does this derby work?

Derby Phase

To freshen up the Great Challenge a little bit, we created a new contest for the festivities. The Derby consists of toy horse races where you have to launch a ball to move your horse according to the value of the hole into which the ball fell (very much like the carnival game). At the end of the race, you will get flags according to your result. You can then exchange your flags for gifts.


Enter a Race

Every day of the contest, you can participate in X races for free (X = from 1 to 4, depending on the number of horseshoes collected by the community during the Great Challenge phase. Note if you do not use your free races, they disappear on the next day. They do not build up.

After using the free races, you will have to pay to enter more races. The price starts at 50 Equus and is multiplied by 4 for each new race (with a 300k Equus maximum). This resets during each daily update.


Race Running

There are 4 horses in each race: one chosen by you and 3 other horses that are controlled by the game. To move your horse, you will throw a ball (by clicking on the 'throw' button) which will land in one of 6 holes. The hole is chosen randomly with an equal probability.

The holes have values from 3 to 6, which decides how many steps the horse goes forward. You will repeat this operation until your horse passed the finish line (60 steps total). There is no limit on the number of balls that can be used.

You can also choose the 'Automatic' race option if you don't want to go through the whole ball throwing process. The result will be random.

Bonus Item

There are bonus items in the Derby, called 'Bonus'. They can be used while a race is running, in order to get more chances to win the race. Using them covers the holes with the lowest number to increase the chance to get a good number. You can use up to 5 Derby bonus items per throw, to guarantee that you will get a 6.


Derby bonus items can be found:

During the Great Challenge phase (when helping other players)

By winning competitions with your horses (6 steps per victory, twice a day maximum)

Thanks to friends (maximum 5 per day)

From UFOs

By requesting help from your friends for 500 Equus, up to 6 times a day to receive 1 bonus item.


End of Race

The race ends when your horse passes the finish line. You will win flags according to your horse's ranking in the race.


Gifts and Flags

Once you have enough flags, you can exchange the flags with gifts of your choosing on the Gifts page. There are several gifts (from Iron to the new divine Caryopsis) that have different prices in flags. The price triples once you have bought a gift. This page will be open for 72 hours after the contest has ended to leave you enough time to use your flags. Even Caryopsis is available in the gifts, which can be obtained for a large amount of Equus.

Note, I am still going to run with a 5 day calculation since test server times and live times tend to run different.

I also do not have any information on 'bonus items' and how they will factor in to calculations.
From what I understand, Bonus Items /should/ make this process easier, so if anyone has information on them please let me know and I'll run another set of calculations.

Anyway. you still need 1350 flags to win the divine. I am going to run on the assumption our server will get at least 3-4 freebie races per day. I'll run calculations if you get last all the time or first all the time.

In one day you need 270 flags
Assuming 3 races a day you will get anywhere from 33-45 free flags (237 - 225 still needed)
4 races a day will be 44-60 flags per day.(226-210 still needed)

Now we need to see how many races we have to purchase.
237 flags getting last each race will equal needing 22 races
210 flags getting 1st each races with equal needing 14 races

Remember, these are per day.

Now, here is where my math was off before.
Race cost starts at 5e (not 50)
5-20-80-320-1280-5120-20480-81920 are the cost for the first 8 races you would purchase. You will not be able to purchase 9 races since it caps at 300k, the 9th race would cost more than that. Unless they just let you keep purchasing at 300k which I do not know yet.

That leaves us with 88-120 more flags. Needing as many as 149 or as a few as 90 more needed to obtain PER day.

Again, this is without information on bonus items or the actual length of the Derby.
Longer than 5 days means fewer needed per day for the divine. Bonus items, I have no information on yet to know what they do and how they will affect the numbers. From what I understand though they are important so people should prioritize getting them during the Great Challenge part of the promo.

So you can win this divine (Caryaposis) with equus if I am right? If that's true,
how much equus would you need to get the divine..I'm thinking something million
since it is a divine. Thanks y'all...sorry if I like completely misunderstood. Once again,

In HOPs and there is like in all GC once you have open a certain number of HOPs the cost is reduced. Or you can win by spending a LOT of equs ( like 30/40 million.

Aaah...I guess I'll be using the HoP method then I should be able to get about 20+ passes by the promo..so hopefully I'll be fine!

The price cap per race is actually 500,000 and once you reach 500,000 you can continue but you pay 500,000 per race.

Also the bonus tokens will only work once during the race so they are not in force for the entire race. My suggestion is to proceed with the race and use the bonus tokens right at the very end. You can go from last to first by doing this.

I peeked at our US test server today just to see what bonuses did. They affect the race itself, not the number of flags you receive, and like Cyber said, a bonus only lasts for one throw of the ball for each race.

Frankly, I am going to hesitantly put out there that you are going to need to hit that max cap every single day in order to win this divine with just equus. Is it doable? Yes, but you will be paying a sizable fortune ,and frankly, I am going to say if you have the Hops saved up.
. . go the Hop route since you can at least bring down the price to something reasonable and you'll still be getting goodies along the way.

Xanthos has been generous enough lately that I have more than enough Hops saved up,
not to mentioned diamonds so I'll make my decision on this divine when the festitivites start and pick out the prizes I want then to go for for the sill flags.

I'l run the exact math the day the Derby starts so we'll get an exact time frame and equus count, since I am morbidly curious just how much equus it would take.

Is it doable? Yes, but you will be paying a sizable fortune ,and frankly, I am going to say if you have the Hops saved up.

I spent over 4 million in two days.

on the test server after opening 15 HoPs the divine came up for sale for 20 passes all the way down to 5. So by going the HoP route the maximum is 35 passes for the divine
