Wait, so, I'm in the early 90's in my objectives, and Howrse is just going to pull them out from under my feet???!!!! I'm finally getting to the good stuff and they will just disappear if I don't finish them fast enough??!!!!!

If that's considered not fair, then what part about those that did do the objectives and then other people get to just skip them fair? I'm just saying, there should be something.

Crazy, you may be done with them by the time this is implemented. but from what the blog says they are removing objectives.

Does anyone know WHEN they are?

I'm just saying I've put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears(Not to mention tons of my hard earned equus!!!) on those objectives UGH!!!

Interesting. I don't know how well it will work, but it will be weird not having constant promotions. Perhaps supply and demand will go up, horses will sell more, bmi's will go for higher…… This could be the beginning of a big impact on howrse.

I do like that promotions will be more rare, I'm just a little confused about the big one.

I wish howrse would ask us about this first.

And ugh I'm gonna hate barley ever having promos. This will be death for me.

Sigh..... Does anyone else find it unfair that new players can access the trophies on their first day and everyone else whom has worked so hard to try and finish their objectives to access the trophies will have done it all for nothing?

This will be enjoyable for me. It's like one big, constant promo that you can ignore!

kqueen-I'll ask you the same question: When you finished the different objectives, you got prizes, didn't you?
And how is that unfair? Because of those prizes, WE got extra horses before we could access auctions. Because of those prizes, WE got BMI's that you could easily use, or trade, and didn't have to wait to complete a puzzle or win a card or for the next lottery draw or harvest time. Because of those prizes, WE got free equus, and aging points, and bonuses, and EXPERIENCE.

Without those prizes, THEY will not get horses. THEY will have to wait until they complete a puzzle or win a card or harvest their plants or break their pinata or for the next lottery draw for the BMI's. THEY have to work harder for their equus, and aging points, and bonuses, and THEY will have to work for a long time for that experience.

(Not being confrontational. It's just an US/THEM comparison)

And I personally thrive on constant promos, thanks to these, and the fact that this is my new account and I already knew all the ropes, I have gotten farther more successful with this account than my old one. I already have 3 unis, high GP horses, a donkey, which I was saving her covers for a future objective, and a great breeding program in which I used my hard earned BMIs correctly and effectively. Also as a non-pass-buyer the constant flow of promos allow me to not loose my mind and wind up buying tons of passes.

I just read this from the blog and I think it is a great idea. They call it the big challenge!

I'm not talking about us GETTING things because we did them -- I'm talking about having something so OTHER people know we did them.

As to the objectives, I think that they were very helpful for me learning to get around, but watching the forums helped more. A whole lot of the silly objectives made me tired and slowed down my progress...I do think that new players might should have a small portion of the objectives, mainly to get some experience and helpful stuff. Maybe we should expand the tutorial? make it last longer?

You said that not getting a trophy for getting them when they could skip them was unfair. (Correct me if I'm wrong there.) I was just pointing out that that's like someone who joined the first day and got every Divine should say "There shouldn't be Divine repeats because then newer players could get the Divine trophies."
The only difference being that we can get the Divine trophies. They do have repeats of Divines so we can get them and the trophies. They won't have repeats of the objectives.
If you wanted to say you completed them, you could put on your page, "I was here when there were objectives, and I did all of them." That's what people with riding levels do. I could make a banner that goes like this:

"I was here when:
-EC's were easy to take care of.
-There were nonstop promos, and not one big one.
-There were objectives, and I completed them, maybe even more than once.
-Divines were mostly for pass-buyers and those lucky few non-pass-buyers.
-Falabellas and Archimedes were Specials.
-There was an Ideas forum on the INT server."

With maybe a couple of other things.

Yes! When I saw that on the international version I went WHAT!? I'd put so much work into those objectives. I think it's just unfair that we won't get the excited feeling of, I finished the objectives and now I have trophies! We worked HARD to get the trophies and it won't be such a special thing anymore. Sorry if I'm ranting.

Good idea. That way they can get a little bit of the expirence tha the objectives would give them.
