I remember as a newbie relying on objectives and promos for BMI's and equus to buy more horses. It was also a challenge. I relied on my objective links to help players...

I would imagine there is still a tutorial if people choose to actually do it. Perhaps they intend to expand that a bit. I imagine the horses donated to OW will be used as incentive for new players or prizes for something.

I truly doubt Howrse intends to leave its newbies flailing and lost. Lets give them some time to work whatever plan they have in the making into code and into reality before we immediately assume newbies are not going to get any teaching at all.

Finally won a horseshoe competition!

wow I was able to collect 15 horseshoes and i participated like 8 horses in the grand prix I wonder how long it will be until howrse players get bored of the big challenge

It's not very hard to get horseshoes. There are even some freebies, in UFOs.

37,000 / 2 (days it's been up, as this hasn't been a full day yet) = 18,500 per day.
1,010,000 / 18500 = 54 days.
I'm sure it'll speed up a little, that's why I said around a month.

Actually thinking about it, isn't this actually the 2nd day? It came a day late (yesterday) so I think that's it.
Maybe around 40 days if things continue as they're going right now.

Probably INT. They have a higher goal but they're way more competitive on a whole.

International also has an enormous player base - we're still quite a small server, so it'll take us a little longer to reach our target.

Their goal is adjusted - 3 450 000

I wonder how they are calculating that formula. I doubt we have a third of the player base INT does, but we have a third of their goal. . .

Needless to say, I bet it will pick up once people get used to how it all it works. Can anyone who was on test server say what the prize list for the lotto at the end was? Is it like the regular lottery, or do we get a little extra in way of value? Also, the Ticket for every 30 shoes you collect, is that 1 ticket PER the entire lottery, or like every draw?

Big Challenge... I honestly think this is the worst idea the Howrse producers ever had! I didn't enjoy the other contests, but now it's just the center of bullying on the game! My sister forwarded me a message from someone (no need to name her) that said she was way better then her and called her names (no need to cuss in here), I also have been teased for not having Divines before I got Venus. What do you know, as soon as I got her, I was never PMed about it again. If there was like, a collection of Birthday Divine horses, or one for every 100 days of seniority you have, there would be no more "using up our systems making contests" and stuff. Also, have you heard that story about the girl who was cyber-bullied on INT for not having the new Divine, and later killed herself after the contest! More of this is going to happen unless they change this game...

I heard a story once where there was this poor 7 year old kid on howrse looking in the spoiler zone and reading somebody's comment that was not needed... She had nightmares for the next six weeks...

I agree with you in the first part of your post, but I do not get the other. I know some people are not polite on this game, but I have never had anyone PM me stuff like that. Or talk about me rudely (unless I am unaware of it). Look at my seniority, I do not have any divines and I don't even own a wild. The closest I had were wandering horses. The ones that were easy to get. On this game, bullying is not that common. I rarely even hear stuff like that. (At least it seems that way to me)
The BC is definitely, in my opinion, not something that is making this game fun.
Hopefully this wont stay for long.

I think its already getting a bit dull.
