I wish they'd do the with the other divines that come through luck. Does anybody know if they plan to make it a usual thing

Anyone want to share their or luck on Opal? I've heard 1st time, or over 100 passes and tons of diamonds. I love Opal's look- but I need to save! Howrse- quit distracting me with pretty horses!

I've spent 12 passes today trying for Opal. Opal is my birthstone, so I've gotta have him!! Still zilch though. I have gotten a HOP, two MA, and three Heels, so that is a plus side.

Does anyone know . . .

It is believed that Howrse wanted to make a set of divines that was more obtainable to everyone. There have been a lot of complaints about players not being able to easily obtain a divine. It could be noted too that most of the Zodiac divines have been released in a promo that was fairly easily to finish compared to other promos in terms of passes spent and strategy. Unlike some promos which can be entirely luck based, many of them have been ones you can guarantee the divine, or at least come very very close to it if you have saved up passes for your own particular sign.

Of course, because of the decided 'ease' of getting some of these divines they are not going to be as 'special' as other divines we have had. How many divines actually end up paying for themselves? Wilds do not, Greygells don't. It would take years for most of them to pay for themselves really. Divines are special only because people want them. Most breeding divines do not have an extra perk, or if they do it is minor and not really all that wonderful and their foal usually does not either.

No one is made to go after these divines. And yet people do. Some people choose to power through a promo on the first day spending who knows how many passes on it to get a divine that sits in their tab and collects dust. The only thing that would tell a company is that people, despite all their complaining, are satisfied.

Because they are pretty. Just because the perk may not be great (even if they have one), it doesn't mean the divine is worthless. I love my Longma, although she doesn't have perk that benefits me in anyway. I would also love to have a Pisces. I would love to have one because of the looks mainly.

Also to add to what Hallaloth posted. I have had an Opal since Dec 2013 and have averaged a diamond every 3 to 4 days. I have even had it release a diamond 3 days in a row.

So compared to other horses in the gem series it is one of the better ones.

I agree. Think about it: why do we spend this much time on a bunch of pixels? Because it's awesome, beautiful, fun, and addicting!

I think it's interesting- all of the opinions. Not being rude I just actually really do think it's cool.

Personally as a player who can't afford to spend tons of passes on horses Leo doesn't really appeal to me. I think GAs & 5th E coats are very different. They are truly made for fun, trophies, and simply looks. Here is nothing wrong with that, I personally like collecting coats. But the point is that they are 1 pass- and not specifically made for profit (with the exception of selling LE coats for a profit). Divines are /usually/ made for some type of profit. Because- let's be real- if none of the divines EVER released were able to make some type of profit for the player and only used for looks and trophies- what is the point?
Anyone know why Aquarius offered tears? Why don't all of the zodiacs have extra BMI bonus as an incentive for those who are not the sign and/or want to spend passes on a divine? There must be a reason, anyone know? (Don't read is sarcastically it's actually an honest question ) Does it have something to do with breeding capabilities?

Unfortunately that is not something that has ever been told to us. I do personally find the zodiacs to be a bit more pointless than most, but I do understand the 'collectors mentality' people get, and we all have something.

I would bet that originally the divines were not meant to be as game changing as they were in the past. Xanthos was the first divine introduced, having the chance at giving a HoP to a luck player. Sleip was next, and back in the day the only thing it did was run away. I do not know the order of divines after that. I do remember that Mist was the first Mare giving us Ocean with Snow and I would imagine when the Gemstones were released offering the player something usable on a regular basis that changed the direction of the Divines for good with players wanting more and more out of the passes they were spending.

Each full set of Divines has offered something different, and it will be interesting to see where it goes in the future. The Zodiacs may seem less valuable, but their graphics are on par as being incredibly artistic and, get the whole set we all know people are going to use that special 5th E to get their Metal coat (though I do agree it is more expensive than anything should be) But then you look at the Egyptian set which awards their gift without needing to care for them (a simple mechanic I happen to be extremely fond of) and they are offering some exceptionally good gifts, even better than the Wind Divines did overall and their generosity is not going to go away. It will be interesting to see what the next big set has to offer in terms of perks/gifts since Howrse does seem to be answering player's requests to go above just making divines special, but useful as well. Maybe not as comp horses, but as a perk that greatly influence in your game on a small scale.

Yes- the Zodiacs are very well designed and very pretty. People seem to not like Cancer but to me, she is beautiful!

Cancer? Was a picture of her posted a few pages back, or are you just referring to the zodiac in general?

I was referring to the Howrse divine's graphics.

In regards to the divines being easier to obtain (supposedly), I thought about it and thought it might have been easier this time around, until I realized I spent 60+ passes getting through the pinata promo. I'm pretty sure Supersonic Ads has kicked me out from milking them so much, LOL (as at least 60 of those passes was from them, the rest a few other offers). I want to try Opal but have no more offers/way to get passes at the moment, and if it is going to take another 60 passes, it's kind of not worth it...
