Regarding the question:
Just a question in regard to the change for getting a pass- will we still be able to purchase a pass with our reserve or is the points system entirely replacing the purchasing with equus method?

I believe the old system will get replaced entirely.

No they do not. Last time this event ran there was a set number of days for the GC portion of the promo. 15 days I recall which gives active players the chance to win all 12 prizes for completing daily objectives. After that the lottery runs for 5 days. Number of draws is now based on how many Horseshoes the community manages to collect. Minimum of 1 maximum of 4. Last time we managed 3 draws per day (which is the norm for the past instances of this promo)

This is information that we are almost never told in advance. Same with what divines appear when in Hops or Golden Fleeces.

Once a chance item goes through testing the only thing they are doing is recoding what divine is in it. The item itself no longer needs testing so it rarely, if ever, on the test server unless such an event occurs at the same time as a promo that is being tested, and even then they usually do not seem to code it in, likely because there is no reason to.

The most 'advance' warning we have is usually when a promo for Hops/TCs goes up on the French server since they are usually running a day ahead of us in terms of events.

While we might get notice of an event like the flower/balloon battles ahead, those are actually tested, and we can sometime predict what divines /may/ be offered doing those events. But anyone who says they can guarantee a certain divine will appear in Hops on x date is a stretch. It has happened, we can make educated guesses based on trends we see, but no one but Admin can guarantee it, and they are not tested events for players to spread the word about.

usually on the GC promos the alternate between HoPs, TCs and GFs so i would think if theres another challenge after this one it would be with TCs that or the one after that default smiley (lol)

@ Levy... yes the GC AFTER this coming GC (that we know about) should be TC or the one after that. As stated they rotate between the 3 items

Any clues as to when the US test server opens? i know we don't test everything, but I really love the prepod- so I just would like to knowdefault smiley :)

The promo coming up after the Plants may not go to the regional servers as it is well known and so far we have no information on what is after it. So what we know is as up to date and International ( even Equidow) is no farther ahead--yet.

My problem with the new free pass system is that it penalizes those who don't have time to play every single day. Before if you didn't have time you could at least log in and work towards the 30 days. Now you HAVE to actually play something every single day or you lose out on the 10 pts for that day. What about students who are only allowed to play on the weekend? What if you go away for a weekend?

I imagine it isn't going to be terribly hard to get the 10 pts, let's say it takes 30 minutes of playing. Let's say I can't log in during the week because of homework etc for more than 5 minutes. But on the weekend I'm allowed to play 3 hours each day. Now a person who has played only 30 minutes but done it every single day will have played 3.5 hours in a week. Someone who plays 3 hours each weekend day will have played a total of 6 hours and yet the person who did the 6 hours will not be able to get a free pass as quickly as the other, in fact it will take them a LOT more time. Seems horrifically unfair to me, and not truly a way to "reward active players" at all. Anyone else? ( and if it only takes 10 minutes to get the 10 pts it is even more unfair no?)

And one more thing, I don't know why they bother to not tell us what activity will generate points, I have no doubt that testers will figure that our very quickly. /silly
