How do people feel about the benefits of crafting to participate in a promo? My experience last year was that I shouldn't have bothered. It probably would have been better for my game if I kept the BMIs I crunched up and just spent a couple more passes. I ended up with leftover promo items at the end - some of which were items I crafted to be able to keep up with the flow of the promo - but I could have just bought some "packs" earlier in the promo and probably been just as well off. Thoughts?

I know that they changed a couple things this year vs last year.
Click to display
1. it now takes 24 hours to craft treats rather than 48
2. you can now craft all treats instead of just the rare ones
3. I believe they switched up some of the ingredients

Now, it's still up to you if it's worth it or not, but with the kids sticking around longer this year (I don't remember how long, but it's more than 24h) I feel like it's not bad if you've got 3 kids wanting a specific thing you don't have and you can just craft some up.

You are right. You won't get 12 per month for most of them. But, for example, my Horus gave me a P.Stone on 8/30 and then again on 9/25. My 30 day item history shows only 1 or none for all the rest of them. The only one I'm missing at this time is Osiris.

How the Two-Faced-Medallion basically works. First off it's at the light side, but when it switches to the dark side, it offers a little bonus.default smiley :p

Does anyone have the official Halloween promo background? Like without all the events, ghosts, and stuff... Like how it would look as an Ow's Helios' Ray?

Also could someone tell me what the Halloween promo is about? All I've seen is like random French stuff and their translations, and no one has told me the summary, I think... What's the objective? And is Apophis the divine offered for that promo?
Thank you Cyberhorse, I guess it's in my price range then... I just might try it.

The Halloween contest makes its return to the Pony Club.

The principle remains the same as last year, but there are some adjustments based on your feedback.

Principle
Every day, children will turn up and ask you for specific treats. Give them the specific treats they ask for in order to get the maximum number of Satisfaction Points and win prizes.

The more your treats satisfy the child, the more satisfaction points are given by the child. Expect a trick if you give them treats they don't like!

Modifications since last year:

Treats
More treats on the first daily login. (17 instead of 15)
Produce ANY treat in your workshops (not just rare treats) with crafting times reduced to 24 hours (previously 48 hours).
Treats cannot be crafted within 24 hours before the end of the contest.

Kids
Kids will turn up regularly throughout the day. Every day the number of children who come and ask you for treats increases. These children will go away after 48 hours (instead of 36) if you don't give them treats.

Better balance for treats. Kids will request fewer rare treats.

The satisfaction points system has changed. Points up to 26 instead of 100%.

Kids with less than 12 satisfaction points are sad. Expect a trick!
Between 12-21 points - neutral satisfaction
Greater than 21 points - happy child.
The points given depends on the rarity of the treat.
The first gifts are easier to reach.

Halloween Pack
During the contest, Halloween Packs will be available in the Black Market. Each pack contains:

3 bells (previously 2)
1 treat of each variety (12 treats total)

Interface
The treats have changed and the ponies are wearing super cute Halloween costumes!

Golden Horseshoes
You can also earn Golden horseshoes for the Event trophy when you collect:

20 Satisfaction Points
940 Satisfaction Points
3730 Satisfaction Points
7600 Satisfaction Points

Community Objective
A community challenge linked to the number of treats given to kids after the tutorial is completed to win an Ow's Helios Ray!

Tutorial
There is a small tutorial to explain how the contest works. Drag treats from the jars to the child's trick-or-treat container!

Prize Draw
Collect at least 2 golden horseshoes to take part in the prize draw, which will take place at the end of the event, to try and win the divine horse Apophis.

Does anyone know if there are pass seeds in the future?

That is never something that has been told to us in advance. Howrse seems to be pick random 'milestones' to offer them for, like reaching a certain number of users, or such. I think the last one was because they reached a certain number of likes/followers on Facebook.

It is not something that is ever up in testing since it does not need to be tested, and it happens so sporadically and without warning. . .it is more a surprise event than something we are ever going to learn about in advance.

I completed the promo coming up next in the test server and here are some rough calculations.

Click to display

First you need 7600 points to get the divine.

You get points by feeding two candies to each kid that shows up. The points depends on what you give and if you give all right ones. Giving two of the easiest will get you 22 points. Giving two rarest gives you 26 points. Giving a mixture of rare, medium and common will earn you from 23 to 25 points.

So for this calculation I am going to use 24 points. On this basis you will need 318 kids to come knocking for the promo duration ( estimated 19 days). Calculated by dividing 24 into 7600.

You are given 6 kids the first day and it increases by 1 extra kid per day. This will give you 261 kids for the complete promo. Enough to get all the prizes without spending any passes.

You will be approx 57 kids short of the total required for the divine. If you wait for the promo "special" which gives you 3 extra kids plus 1 treat for each jar from common to rare ( guaranteed).

So what this means is even if you have all the treats available to give you will need to spend passes to get the 57 kids you are short, no getting around it.

My suggestion is to buy 10 of the special the first weekend it is offered and buy the rest you need from the second special when it is offered. This is the best way to take advantage of the free kids and buying only the kids needed when the second special is offered at the last weekend (the end of the promo).

What are the bells used for?

By Retired breeder, October 4, 2016 14:40:58
Oh wait haha is that from last year?!

Thanks much for this info Cyber about the H_P_C promo coming up. I had a few more questions if you wouldn't mind though!

Click to display

First, will there be flash sales for this promo? And if so, is the divine included as usual?

Second, does it look like we will have way too many treats like last time and that we might want to buy the special pack when first available but after that it might be more cost effective to buy just the bells? Do we have to figure out some balance there?

Also, based on the description above, 22 pts for a kid is when they are happy. How does one end up with tricks if giving 2 easy treats will make the kid happy enough for a score of 22? Oh, I read the description again and I think I get it. You have to give the requested treats to the children to get at least 22 pts. If the child asks for common treats you will get only 22 pts, if they ask for rare treats you can get 26. And if you give them something they don't ask for then you get less than 22 points. ok, I think I get that now.

So, if you assume you have to buy at least 20 packs to get the required # of kids, do you think this will definitely guarantee you to have enough treats? or very close to depending on luck of what you draw daily? Will we need to supplement some with workshop treats?

ok, thanks for your thoughts on this Cyber!
