When Spring Cleaning happened, I specifically asked Contact Us whether or not co-blupping was okay. This was my question:
"Also another team question (sorry for all the add-ons) would using another team member's account to blup on be considered multi-accounting? It isn't just other people, she also does a fair amount on her account as well for the team."

And this was their answer:
"If a team member has been given co-management permissions, they can legally assist with any task the feature gives them access to. However, if they are not logging in using the account sharing feature, then they are multi-accounting."

This seems like a deliberate way to target teams. Now I personally really enjoy blupping, and can blup a horse to 100 in about 20-30 minutes depending on whether or not another teammate is online. If I have to wait around for comps to run to get my wins (remember that less than 100 BLUP means you don't get as much IBS/GP gain in the next generation) then I am wasting time that I could instead be improving the breed.

Now, I see a lot of ill will towards top teams, but their horses help with everyones breeding not just their own. Yes, teams do keep a distance of around 500+GP between them and everyone else, but how would you feel if someone had benefitted off of your hard work without doing any of their own?

Also, I have less than a years worth of seniority, and I have managed to get all the way to the top 150 players in that time through my own hard work and dedication. When i hit 100 days of seniority or somewhere around there I bought a filly from the top Arabian team and managed to get ahead of their releases by about 40/50ishGP. So yes I do know that it is possible to get all 20 wins without filling help, but it's much easier to do with filling help.

I don't quite understand why this debate turned to filling, but nevertheless the new co-management system doesn't really improve the things that were wrong (again why can't we allow access to only certain parts of the game) and why do we have to give access each time we log off. If admin insists on pushing this change through then they should seriously consider putting this onto the mobile app as well. I check my account 20-30 times a day from my phone while I'm out at school or running errands, and I can't always flip to classical easily which would be a problem.

But entering over lower-skilled horses when you have the *capability* and the *right* to enter empty comps and can fill those with relative ease — that is just plain old being mean. Please tell me that as a mod and person of power on this server, you are not encouraging this.

Players can enter whatever competition they wish to that the game allows them to. There is no requirement anywhere that demand someone enter their high skilled horse in an empty comp when there is another comp sitting there with 4 entries that they could easily beat. We're all competing to get the same 20 wins on our horses. The best horse is going to win, that is what a competition is. Shaming players for selectively choosing competitions their horse is going to win at is JUST as rude and disrespectful as shaming top teams for blanket entering to get their wins.

Playing your game 'smart' is not 'mean' and its not 'unfair'. The game is designed to pit your horses up against other horses and see who has the best horse.

Maybe seeing it in that light means that yes, not every horse in the lower GP range is going to get those 20 wins. 100% blup is not a requirement, and the loss is something that can be made up down the line. No one single horse in a bloodline is so important that the game demands it be to be perfect to still have a stellar bloodline.

I would be happy is I could stop at the 20 wins, but I have to blanket in order to bold. When training a skiller, this might be 100+ comps to bold all 6 skills. Once I get the 20 win,s I enter many comps with better horses just to get the skills - winning is not the intent and so I fill many times against Divines just to get the comp cleared out and gain skill. Blanketing is not always about getting wins. Many times I pick up unexpected wins, but that is the way it goes when the requirements are what they are.

Let’s talk new players here. Back when I first started in 2007 the opportunities for new players were a bit more even with players past their 30 days who had access to all features of the game. We had the quests that gave us a chance to earn BMI or horses to give us something more to do during the time we had to wait for sales to be unlocked. The game no longer offers this feature and as a result of the servers being so far up there in GP it is very hard for a new player to blurp their starter horses or even get farther in the game without buying passes. These new players depend on top teams not blanketing compitions to blurp their first horses. Filling is my mind is not cheating it is a way for teams to be more considerate to these players just getting started. My team also offers to help new players and if we are requested to we fill for them so they can blurp their first horses. I am a pass buyer and it has taken me a year to get to where I’m at and I believe in sharing my resources with others who need a little help getting started because without help from others I wouldn’t be where I am today. Kindness should be encouraged and by looking at these posts all I’m seeing is others getting upset over a function that hasn’t even made it to the game yet. We have time to figure out how this function will work and how we can help our teams without blanketing so give it a chance and ask the mods what they know about this new function.

@Hallaloth if teams were unable to use fillers easily, blanketing would be much more common, causing many players to be frustrated when they can't get their horses to win even rookie comps. Many top teams will train the secondary skills so that once they finish skill gains from comps they're at the very top of the rookie level. For example, in trot comps the horse being blupped would have 728 speed/dressage and less than 100 trot. Add on all the bonuses you have and any player who entered a lower horse would never be able to win, which is extremely frustrating.

Teams fill comps so that we don't interrupt other players blupping, as we can all remember the hard work and dedication that we put into our lines so that they become the top. I don't really understand why everyone thinks that top players and teams are super uptight and don't care about everyone else in the game. If we didn't there literally wouldn't be a single open competition. If we blanketed I could totally see someone maxing out skill gain from comps before getting out of rookie comps, which would mean that's about 75-100 comps. There's probably about 40-50 top horses being blupped a day (at a minimum) which would mean 3000 to 5000 comps where regular players are trying to blup their horses as well.

If teams fill, they wait until the higher skill levels to bold out skills, and normally only enter 20-25 comps. That's only 800-1000 comps. Plus they use empty comps, so that other players aren't affected.

How is filling wrong? All we try to do is improve our own game without causing frustration to others.

I do believe that the new co-management system may prove to be quite problematic. When I am trying to blup team horses really quickly, or blupping team horses with very low GPs, I find it very hard to win comps without help from fills from co managing. For example, when blupping a low GP horse, it is hard to get wins without getting stomped from other higher gp horses if we dont have co manage to fill for our own team horse. Also, as a side note, I'd like to know if when the actual user logs on, do we get a warning before we are logged out from their account? Or is it automatic?

I have a team breeding unis on another server. No co management is used and 20 wins and full BLUP is just not as difficult as many seem to make it out to be.

I think because teams have used this practice for so long that they have lost track it can be done without always having fillers from a co management account.

I am not sure so will bring that up on preprod.

I routinely blup low GP unicorns on this server. Most of my unicorns are below current foundation level. Just by going for comp gain and not even trying hard to pick up wins I still routinely get 5-10 without trying, without using co-management to fill. I usually have bolding done by around 6.6-7.6 years, meaning if I chose to go back and get wins before age 10, and focused solely on getting wins on them, it would not be that difficult.

It is not as difficult as people are making it out to be, Most of my blupping is with unicorns below 1000 GP, and newer players and teams regularly have access to horses much higher than that.

Hallaloth, using fillers is not about 100BLUP being difficult, it's about time efficiency and being considerate of other players.

Well if it is going to slow down your "time efficiency" then it will do the same to other teams. You will all be in the same boat. In other words, you will all be on the same level that you are now. It will just take a little longer and will have to be done by the individual players. So instead of BLUPing 50 horses a day you may only get to BLUP 25, but again you will all be in the same condition.

I also think this considerate of other players is blown out of proportion. Actually, I expect to to cut down on the PMs I get from teams telling me to stay out of their comps when they are trying to BLUP. I am trying to BLUP too and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why they think they own some comps. I just block them and continue on. If more than one team player tries to bully me - I report.

I will agree with the Mods. I BLUP 350 foundations and low GP donkeys all the time and do not have problems getting the wins. It might take a couple of days, but it still gets done.

And yet, is really that considerate of other players? Sure, you may be making sure your highs skilled horses are not 'stomping' other horses. . . but those competitions that you fill so quickly no one else can enter are then unavailable for 24 hours.

I would much rather have the choice of entering a competition with a high skilled horse in it and at least getting my bolding out of the way, than looking at the comp page and finding nothing of low enough difficult where my unis might have a chance. In the past I have had unis with half the GP of top horses that can still beat out those horses in rookie comps. I haven't been super active in blupping and working my unis recently, but I imagine I still have a handful of lines that could do that. The problem lately has been (and not just during this promo) that certain competition just don't have anything available at lower difficulty levels

Showjumping comps are a classic example where any given day I can go in and will be lucky to find half a dozen rookie comps below 100 difficulty. Where other days there are dozens. I would much rather have the choice to go up against team horses and at least see if my unis can manage the win than end up at levels of competition that are a good 80+ above what their primary skill is at even with bonuses factored in.

Every time I come back here, it's the same arguments. I should probably not even be getting involved, but as the owner and co owner of several competitive teams, I can't help it. I truly don't understand why all of this resentment surrounding filling is even a thing. Contact Us has stated to everyone that asked that filling comps is NOT against the rules.

So that should be the end of it, right? We are allowed to fill competitions we have our horses, to make those comps run. It's not wrong for us to do so, as there are hundreds or even thousands of comps out there.

@Hallaloth, you said: "I would much rather have the choice of entering a competition with a high skilled horse in it and at least getting my bolding out of the way, than looking at the comp page and finding nothing of low enough difficult where my unis might have a chance"

All comps give skills, so if you're just looking to bold your horses, that shouldn't be a problem for you. If you're looking for wins and you notice that a my team has used all of the lower comps that you would have used, I and all of my teammates would be happy to fill for you so that you get your wins too. We've filled for other teams on more than one occasion. And for private breeders as well.

I've noticed that those most vocal players against filling aren't even on teams, or if they are, they aren't very competitive. It's hard to not think that those players are almost crying "it's not fair" because they've either never experienced the excitement of competition or they're unhappy with not winning.

Howrse has provided us with the ability to put two horses into a competition. They've also given us a divine to make finding those competitions easier (Winter: VIP Perk: Find a competition that one of your horses is already in.) They've also given us the ability to work together with our friends in the form of a team to better progress our breed of choice and our own games as a result. Filling competitions to make them run is a part of that.

I not crying "not fair". I just dislike the whole structure of organized teams. I also don't believe in the trophies for Victory Rankings and Most Wins. I have no problem getting wins when I want to and am quite familiar with the excitement of competitions. I also use a filler when BLUPing low skilled horses, but it is my horse that fills - not someone else's. Therefore, your assumption is incorrect.

Good results can be obtained without the use of team accounts used for filling comps of other horses of that team.

I just ran an experiment. As stated earlier I have a team on another server of unis. I took two of my unis and within 2 days from having no wins or even entered any comps ( all training bars done only) got 20 wins with both of them. One only took 1 day, the other took the second day. My team there is ranked 2nd. No fillers were even used and all done with auto comp.

I just isn't that hard to do.

@Cyberhorse, I haven't gone back to read through every single comment and reply here regarding filling or the use of Co Management to do so but I don't think anyone is denying the fact that auto comping will get you your 20 wins in a day or two, or is claiming that it's too hard to do. The Auto Comp feature states that it will place your horse in the comps that it's most likely to win. I got 20 wins for my Irish Hunter teams top mare using auto comps and no fillers earlier this week. It's just slower. I'd rather not have to wait and check back repeatedly before breeding the mare and getting her foals to the team so they can BLUP and keep our momentum going forward. Especially since I'm constantly busy with work or family, lol.

@Windwalker2, I never named you specifically, but if the shoe fits. default smiley ;) I use my own horses to fill. They're all named accordingly. And when my teammates help fill they use their own horses. The only time one of us will use Co to get on and fill from another account is if they say they are unable to fill and tell us to use their horses. I can't speak for all teams but that's how my teams run. Given all the features of the game, I find it hard to believe that this breaks any rules or is any form of cheating. Especially since, as I mentioned before, those at Contact Us have said that it isn't. default smiley ^)

On a personal level I don't believe in harassing other people to help me accomplish personal tasks. I am not going to go out of my way to forever be contacting other players and getting into a situation where I rely on them to accomplish what should be my own. When I blup for one of my teams I do occasionally send out a request to the team itself for fillers if I am working a unicorn that is at the top of the team GP.

I don't really have anything against filling. I put a filler horse of my own in all that time, and in the past I have used co-management to a friend's account to put a few extra in and clear my unicorns out of the comp page if an extra filler or two will run the comp.

I will outright admit I am lazy when it comes to blupping. I look to getting my wins and bolding done in one shot, if I miss out on some wins, no big deal for me in the long. I'll make the GP in another generation or two. So I typically hunt through competitions looking for comps I can reasonably assume I am going to win. Which means for me, means looking for partially entered comps and seeing how my horse stacks against other horses in the comp. My tiny unicorns (especially those with 800gp or lower) are going to have a much better chance at comps between 0-50% difficult, most days I don't see anything in SJ or CC comps under 70 anymore.

@Hallaloth, I've noticed that lower comps are rare anymore. Idk if it's the rise in numbers of teams or what. I used to see loads of under 20 difficulty Western Pleasure comps, but they're usually all gone by the time I get on to BLUP. It's kind of crazy. I wonder if EC owners are aiming more for Rosette comps and upping their difficulty to achieve it?

This is a server wide problem. Many of these comps are owned by newer players but if that player is not interested in an operating or maintaining an EC then the overall number of comps suffer. This is a trend that I see on all servers and low level horses and divines simply have no comps to enter. It is something I have been voicing to the admins for a few years now and I will continue to do so.

@Cyberhorse, that's really unfortunate. Maybe if the ECs were more interactive players, especially newer ones would be more inclined to keep up on them. I really like how on the INT server ECs have their own forums. It would be cool to see that here as well.
