@Cyberhorse perhaps it could be suggested that instead of comp prestige focusing on the skill of horses that are entered, maybe it could instead focus on how often the comp is run?
@Hallaloth @Cyberhorse

Yes, I myself have blupped my own foundie unicorns before (at 350gp) and yes, I did manage to get all 20 wins. However this was after a week, however with another pair i tested with fillers from co management, i managed ot get the unis done in less than a day.

So I do agree, we can still get our wins without co management, however it will take longer, for lower gp horses as higher gp horses usually take up all the comps. But I do realise that everybody will be on the same boat so I realise that your points are quite valid. I'd just prefer if things were kept the way they are.

@queenjessi24, that's a great idea. I totally agree with that default smiley :)

I also think the comps need restructuring. Maybe a new set of comps for horses with over 100 wins? Let the players going for Victory and Most Wins ranking compete against each other. Something is just not right when you have 4 horses trying to BLUP that are past the beginner comp skill range and every comp is filled with a target trained horse that has hundreds of wins.

Here is what is most interesting this is just US server stats.

19742 players
2608593 horses
7998 equestrian centers
Look at the first and last stats, ECs and players

Say each EC is running 5 comps each so we have a total of 39990 comps available in any 24 hour period, based on everyone not using VIP to run multiple times each day,

So if each player runs a horse in 6 comps per aging for bolding Blups. A few people could very easily run out every comp in a few hours time.default smiley (8)

Think of the divine comp situation on steroids. We have plenty divines no comps for the low GP ones.
I could very easily run out every show jumping comp 750 gp and up, for the next week with 50 plus MA kill horses. Then just spread from there.

These are stats I have been aware of for over 3 years and it is not just the regional servers. I tried to enter a 500 skill divine in SJ and X country on International and after using one regular comp no divine comps showed up for over 4 hours.

I stopped entering any comp ( other than my Jupiter and GP) 3 years ago simply to avoid the frustration of not finding any.

This is one thing I will be raising again if anything about comps or EC's comes up from being an ambassador.default smiley ^)

Except of those horses, how many are actually being entered in comps? Of the 2100+ I have. maybe 100 of them are even actively worked, of those 100 probably a dozen or less even end up comps. Granted teams run more horses, but still. . . not all those horses are taking up slots.

@Hallaloth even if not every horse is being entered in comps, the horses being worked are most likely being entered in 40-50 comps to bold and get wins. It's concerning to see that less than half of all players have equestrian centers, and there's a big shortage of lower comps. It was really nice during the Wandering Horse promo since comps ran more often, but at the same time it showed just how big a problem it was.

Based on the current promotions with the companions, does anyone know if Howrse will continue to release the other companions for sale?

The Grizzly is a new release that came with the Divine Sequoia. It is not a re-release of any of the old companions, so I very much doubt any of the original companions will return.

Reason they did this was simple. people were not willing to complete the pinata promo for the horse, only 128 did this making the Grizzly rare. To kill the sales market for the pet they decided to release it. So why not just revamp Sequoia to drop something else now that they killed the resale market?

I feel like I got slapped in the face and very much insulted by this careless and selfish act on Howrse's part. They should release the other pets as well to make the losses fair across the board.

Spoiler banner just in case....

I agree. I mean, I got my horse with a grizzly bear extremely cheap back then(considering it was going for 20 passes back before this release, and I got it for only equus), but when I saw the sales for grizzly bears recently, I couldn't help but feel shocked.

This may not be what you were referring to, but when I saw the prices went down drastically, and it sort of felt like the cheated those players that spent a lot of passes to get the divine, and spent a lot of droppings to get the companion. When I initially saw the divine, all I could think of was it being exclusive, and so the players that could get a horse with a grizzly bear, whether they bought it or put the bear on themselves, should be proud and pleased. Now, I can't help but lose that happiness over the knowledge that I managed to acquire a grizzly bear because it's lost that rarity, which was what made it so valuable then.

It would sort of be like announcing a re-release of the Ghost and Dragon companions. Players spent a lot (both passes and actual money)to get those, and then to find out they could have gotten it for cheaper later--terrible doesn't even cover half of it.

I am just going to point out that every single 'special' thing on Howrse typically gets a pass purchase release at some point. This includes all of the customizable coat BMI, the Hestia's gift, and every single divine whether via luck items or direct pass purchase.

Is it really so hard to believe they would do the same thing with a companion that so few people had access to? Personally even if I had gotten the divine that gave it, I wouldn't feel 'cheated'

As a collector, I would be happy to see the Ghost and Dragons re-released, even though I spend a good 15+ passes PER companion on several of them.

This is a limited time offer, the prices are going to be going back up, and newer people will come around that want them.

You can't have it both ways. Either they never give things in offers away, or they try to do their best to keep things available for those that want them and will pay the little extra on them. I would bet they have made more on the current sale then they did on the original event the divine was released.

As someone who owns the divine that gives the Grizzly Companion, I don't feel cheated - to be honest I know that it probably be a long time before the Grizzly come back around as a special offer and the value will go up in the meantime. I do hope this a sign the other companions may come back the same way as I am still a few short of completing my collection. I start play after they were release so I've spent quite a bit acquiring the ones I have and I do hope to have the full set at some point.

Arion and the Japanes Bella were gifts from the Howrse Cup. We worked hard to earn them and they were something special until they were released on the regular game.

People invested a lot in the Tales of Etria to win Etrian and Wikaila through that game and again they were special and then they were released on the regular game.

Players that could not get them through Howrse Cup or Tales of Etria were glad enough to get them when they were released on Howrse and didn't give much thought to the players that invested in the original acquisition.

So it is with the Grizzly and all other initial releases. They are all eventually re-released for the masses to have a chance to acquire them. You cannot favor the release of some things where other players lose investment but not the things where you lose investments.

I am sorry I wont spend 200+ dollars on a cell phone I dont need to play a game. I could care less those two Tales horses came out in weekend promos

Biggest thing is that like the rare diamond apples, people will tend to pass traffic to get what they paid for them on the international side. Same will go for the pets if they dont release the other ones too. Had they did the pets all at once could you imagine the revenue generated and it would be fair to all.
Its never about the Items released but what they are on for me. You got a pet on a foundie horse Vs a horse mutt, I will go for the foundie. Same goes with my coat collections and other things I look for. Two of mine pets came from a person who deleted their account. If they came back I will give them back.

As for Arion it is hard to get that horse when you have players deliberately Rosetta comp block to allow for only curtain other players to acquire it. Seen this several months in a row and it should be looked at for a stomping issue.
Pertaining to Arion, it took me five years to get the quality horses to win that divine. And there was no stomping, just high level competition and a thirst for winning. It was incredibly tedious and there was no chance to let up on the pursuit. Even still, coming down to the wire, I was surprised I actually won when I did. To me, having that kind of ultra competitiveness was a fascinating lesson in strategy and endurance, but I would not want it in an overall game.

Arion is awarded to the player with the most Rosettes who has also never before owned Arion. Meaning, even if there is 'Rosette stomping' going on. . . anyone doing so who has already won him are not affecting anyone else's chances of obtaining him at all.

But we're getting off topic. We have no way of knowing if future releases of companions will happen or not, personally I would like to see them, but we're digressing from the purpose of the topic and should get back on track.

Can someone please explain how I can give people co access on preprod? I see where I can connect to others' accounts, but not give them access to my own

If we can't stay on topic and this continue to be a debate attempting to force other players to play the game YOU want them to play, this topic will end up locked.

Whether you agree with how people choose to play their game, whether that be how and why they choose to enter comps or how and when they breed or anything. . . if the actual set rules of the game (regardless of what 'rules' players attempt to make and enforce on their own) are not being broken, it is NOT your business to harass, badger or attempt to guilt others into playing the game YOUR way.

Players are welcome to enter as many and whatever comps they wish. There is absolutely nothing in the game that states otherwise. If you can't understand that and can't live with that, you are never going to be happy or satisfied playing the game and may want to consider finding a game that suits your fancy better.

Further attempts to derail this topic will be censored. A little polite discussion about things related to changes is fine, but veering so far off topic and continuing it after being asked to cease is not.
