Ack! default smiley :o You can't be serious, Cyber. Please tell me this isn't true. That would be a lot of eq down the drain if they do that. BLUPping would be even worse if they do that.
but all the good m2m and high quality tack you can now -- I am -- just in case ....

Here is a seriously excellent post made by one of the testers. I could not have said it better.

Switching skillset is way useful when blupping.
There is no need to have a blupped horse sitting with expensive 3 star gear, when it can be useful on a non blup.
I board the blupped horse in an EC that has tack and swap the items so I can use them on my next blup.
Indeed if we have a slim chance of finding 3 star gear in HOP's and then can only use it on one horse, then we so totally have a severe pass-drainer there.

I wonder if all players are going to be willing to keep on playing "Russian Roulette" with their passes, hoping for a chance to get a few useful tack items.

I wonder if Howrse has really analyzed just what major impact this non-reusable tack feature will have on all the players.

Are we to expect that all items can only be used once, and that's it?
Switching skills to blup an non skiller will now become a complete no go, unless you willing to sacrifice 3 star gear, or if it carries low star equipment, and you do not care if that vanishes into thin air.
The VIP perk will only be useful if you buy a horse that looks like it will have a better chance if we switch skillset, or you have chosen the wrong skillset by mistake, or if the horse is in sales with no expensive tack on it.

^ I quoted this from Horsegirl88 but it was posted by Cyberhorse

I just wish Howrse would leave the tack alone. I normally only have one made to measure bridle and saddle in stock with a few silver horseshoes. But with this tack idea on the test server or whatever is was is just crazy. This will make BLUPping less easy and more expensive because you have to have at least *some* good gear for the wins. If no is really BLUPping their horse, now close to no one will BLUP their horse.
By Retired breeder, April 9, 2014 22:02:54
Then it would be pointless to put good tack on a horse that you're only bluping, because then it'll just be useless when you're done. Then it'll be harder to get wins because of the smaller bonus, and because of all of the other horses you're competing against that do have the good tack. Then, with skillers you're only gonna want to put P. tack on them, so... yeah. default smiley (lol) I don't know what I'm trying to say.

That's a great point, Cyberhorse.

I just don't know because Rivendell is both in the mountains and the forest. Ack! I guess I will just choose which ever gives the best advantages.

The tack change makes it less realistic. IRL, if you buy a new saddle, the old one doesn't just vanish!
