Buckskins used to be a color on the V1 coats way back around 2006/2007. With the V3 update, they did away with the color, the horses all reverting to another coat color, Dun I do believe (Someone correct me if I'm wrong). We are currently on V5 coats (V3 and V4 were identical in all areas except the overo coats).

I believe they reverted to Dun coats because Buckskin is a subcategory of Dun, just like Blue Roan is a sub category of black, strawberry roan is a sub category of chestnut, and bay roan is a sub category of bay...

Another coat they did away with during that update was the light bay coats, which all reverted to another style of bay coat. Not sure if it was cherry bay, bay, or dark bay.

Part of the reason why they did away with the buckskins and light bays was, they were hard to differenciate from the coats they were sub categories of, and hard to tell from each other. If you search photobucket, you may find a complete collage of the V1 coats, as well as the V2 coats. V3 coats are easier to find, as are V4, as they were available the longest, but I caution you, the only way you can tell the difference is to look at the overo coats for those two. The overo went from a splash overo to a frame overo, and most people overlooked the change unless they started out on here with paints, with their first horses being the overo coat without an immediate golden or diamond apple.

On a sub note, for some reason when I went to quote about the buckskins, it quoted in html format and wouldn't let me post with the quote. I just cleared my cookies too, so that wasn't the cause of it.

Seems this is the new design for Gypse, who is becoming part of the Gemstone collection and will be known as Gypsum.

If you take a look at the source url you'll see the image is named "Sable", which is the French word for sand.

Well he looks gorgeous now. >.> What a pretty, I wish the older Gemstones would get a full graphics overhaul and not look quite so chunky with their gemstones flying everywhere. Such a pretty form.

What is the spoiler banner? What does it look like?
By Retired breeder, July 22, 2014 02:12:49

He's beautiful. I want him

@WyomingBuffalo- it's a tag that hides text or images. you can make a spoiler tag by typing the following (remove the *s): [*spoiler] whatever you want hidden by the spoiler [/spoiler]
You can hit the preview button on your post to test whether you've done the code right (instead of posting to test-which ends up spamming the thread)

I love the new design on Gypsum! Very pretty (which he was slightly less gold colored though). Would definitely be nice if the older gemstones got graphics overhauls!

Whens the next promo starting?

they may be keeping the aspect of him being sand still that is why it is dust/sand and not stone.

No one knows. Only Admin could tell you the direct answer to that. We only know that Cards was on the French Test server, it could be a good month or more away, it may never actually come if they have other things planned that move along faster or slower than planned.

Howrse stated when the GC started originally it was to attempt to space out our promos as people were starting to feel burned out by the constant promos with hardly a days rest between them. Pinatas ended within the last week and a half, have some patience.

Saw this rumor posted on the international spoiler thread (obviously take with many grains of salt):
Click to display

That the next promo will be cards-which we already knew- but themed for the World Equestrian Games* in mid august.
There will be two new divines introduced, Skinfaxi and Hrimfaxi (again info we already know).

*they had a contest for going to the World Equestrian Games on international howrse so this would probably line up with that especially since it's taking place in France this year

Actually no grains of salt. It is pretty much determined that this is very much correct.

The only thing in dispute is exactly when the promo will start...ceertainly in August and certainly those divines and that theme..

Well, when you test folk, or you folk that play on Int get the prize list, a post here would be nice. Probably about the same as the last few though, though I am curious how those Wild Cards are going to work. Seems like they would be as rare as finding diamond cards, in which case. . . .just more passes to spend. Unless you can change cards for equus into Wild cards. . . but I doubt it.

There is so much speculation that goes on the Int server that we need to be careful on what we take as fact or even just wild rumor. Someone mentioned new breeds and it went flying off in a direction that was totally unsubstanciated.

Nothing that I could say with any certainly beyond my last post is ready to be launched. Everything else is pure speculation fueled by a desire for it to happen. default smiley :s

I watch the Int server everyday and am a regular tester and will not back anything that does not have a proven source or at least a reliable one.

We just need to settle down with speculation taken from someone on Int that "wishes" certain things to accure. default smiley :)

I always enjoy speculation, but I do think it would be helpful when posting to also post your sources, such as if it was from the test site or just a rumor in the int thread. I am personally not on any other servers, so I have no more of a clue than you guys do (and probably less than most of you) about what is coming up in the game.

What will be the next Devine after the one right now?
No one knows what the next Great Challenge divine will be. It's all just speculation - I haven't seen anything official.

The next promotional divines are set to be Hrimfaxi and Skinfaxi. The last few posts discuss their release and when the promotion will likely start.

Sounds like they are more Chinese Divines. I'm assuming howrse is going to come out with a series of Divines based on the Chinese Myths and legends, which is fine by me. I guess for those who have Qilin, he won't be quite so lonely anymore, and Gypse isn't going to be quite so lonely now either. I'm glad that they are both getting families now finally.

This was posted on Int regarding information that goes off track.default smiley ;)

It is so true annd yet so funny. So here is the metamorphsis of rumor to fact.

The whole Paso thing is like the whisper game -

"Wouldn't it be nice to see Pasos?"

"It would be nice to see Pasos!"

"Yes, Pasos here would be nice"

"Pasos? HERE?!? When?"

"Oooo, we're getting Pasos!"

"When are the Pasos coming?!?"

<div class="sowcle-spoiler"><div class="sowcle-spoiler-switch" onclick="showSpoiler(this);" style="display: none;"><span>Tianma & Chinese Divines</span></div><div class="sowcle-spoiler-content" style="display: block;">I would assume that they are introducing more Chinese Divines, too. I just got a hold of a Tianma and it is a stallion which has the option to breed to a mare. This makes me wonder what it's going to breed to... perhaps it will be something like what they did with the Earth and Sun to make Moon or any of the others.
