The Challenges
help you progress faster if you land on the space and complete the task. Some, like which color background to apply and equus amounts to donate will differ like they tend to do with these challenges. So don’t freak out about the amount of equus it told me to donate.

Instructions

Roll the dice and move on the board game. The purpose is to collect gifts and keys. The keys allow you to pass on to the next board game.

There are 2 first prizes:

- Divine Egyptian horse: Seth (7th board)
- Divine Red Falabella: Liten (6th board)

Dice roll

Unlike the previous edition of the contest, you can use your dice roll whenever you want.

You gain dice rolls:

upon first daily login (3 per day)
when doing missions with your horses (limited to 3 per day)

You can buy them with passes all during the contest or wait for special and interesting promotions at certain times during the contest.

Click on the dice to make it roll.

It is not possible:

to get the same number 2 times in a row
to get a number that allows no move

You can re-roll the dice once using Equus, to try again.

Board games

There are 7 board games. You unblock the next board by catching all the keys. Then you can go to the magic door to change board game.

Access to 2nd board : 2 keys from the 1st board
Access to 3rd board : 5 keys from the 2nd board
Access to 4th board : 7 keys from the 3rd board
Access to 5th board : 8 keys from the 4th board
Access to 6th board : 9 keys from the 5th board
Access to 7th board : 10 keys from the 6th board

Special squares

Seven types of squares on the game:

Regular squares: Roll the dice and land on a regular square
Gift: you win a gift!
Gift for a friend: You get a gift you have to place on a friend’s board game.
Key: You win a key to open the magic door.
Teleporter: leads you to on another teleporter square. You can choose not to use it.
Challenge: a challenge is proposed to you that will give you a bonus if you succeed.
Magic door: leads you to the card to go on another board game.

Challenges

If you do not do the challenge, the square becomes normal and when you find another challenge square you will have another challenge to do.

Golden horseshoes

You win a golden horseshoe for the trophies after a certain number of keys have been collected:

1 keys
7 keys
20 keys
41 keys

Set/Seth (he's on board 7, the last one board)
His treasure chest offerings are skill points, mash and Titan's Challenge.
If you’re curious about the amount of mash he offers, the two days I’ve gotten mash from him, he’s given me x2 and x5 mash.
There's a Falabella on board 6

Dice Packs. This offer gets you 4 rolls for 1 pass instead of 2. There's another way in which we are able to earn dice rolls, but due to the irregularities of it I asked for some clarification.

This promo is also down to luck(like any game that requires rolling dice), so I don’t know how many passes it will take. Unfortunately, to exit you *have* to land on the space with the door. You can’t roll a number equal to or greater than that space. I completed it once going straight through (without using the special dice pack offers) and it took me over 100 passes as I couldn’t seem to land on the spaces I needed to. My second time around I’ve used 14 passes so far and am on board 4.

General Tips

-The gifts: the link in the first spoiler had a pic of all the prizes available, but when you land on a space that contains a gift, you receive *one* of the prizes at random that gift contains.
-Know your route! Either take a screenshot of each board when you first enter or use the ones in the first link and make note of where all the keys are the teleporters you may have to take(as some boards will require the use of them) and the challenge spaces should you decide to use them as well. You don’t want to finally land on a teleporter, get to the exit only to realize you forgot a key and have to land on the teleporter again, get the key etc. You might want to make a plan for the order in which you go after the keys and use the teleporters and get to the exit
-Stock up on equus!: You can re-roll the dice once every regular roll for 20,000e. That adds up if you choose to do this.
-Don’t roll the dice too fast!: If you land on a teleporter and click to roll again before using the teleporter, then you lose your chance to use it and have to land on it again.

Yes it does seem pass heavy, but we are only using the first dice buying option - two rolls for one pass, with discounts if you buy higher numbers. Typically if you wait for a special offer and use the free rolls, you can cut pass spending by a lot.

Since pass calculations don't transfer well from testing to live game, I recorded the number of rolls it took me to pass each board.

Board one: 23
Board two: 31
Board three: 45
Board four: 41
Board five: 53 (I made a mistake and had to go back to get a key)
Board six: 31 (didn't try for Liten the fala, just went straight for the keys and the door)

I haven't finished board seven yet. It looks similar in length to the other boards, except there are no pesky keys to try and land on. I also spent 1,160,000 equus on re-rolls, which do not factor into my roll counts above.

Finally, the challenges can be very helpful. If you have the chance to land on a challenge space, I would go for it. Several of them allowed me to teleport to the nearest key space, thereby saving me the trouble of trying to land exactly on the key. There is one challenge to remove a pegasus' wings so you may want to prepare for that one.

Spent about 100 passes on TCs, and it is very, very challenging and hard to get far. Still just goes by a matter of luck.

I'm not sure if anyone else has posted this yet, but the toolbar and drop-down menus are now partly transparent, and smaller, and the width of the drop-downs is much smaller now. But when you go to the sales or somewhere where you type in a blank, the blanks are an eye-searing white. I'm guessing the forums not showing in the community tab is just for the test server.

Ok- I obviously did not fare well- pass wise. I think it was due to luck, or maybe user error? I did go for Liten. I think Liten is on Board 5 or 6, shows up in the top left as a silver coin and when you hover over it, it says "The divine Liten" or something...
I do have to say- Seth is very pretty graphics. Also spent almost 3 million equus on re-rolls. Now before you go, "But I only have 50 or so passes and nowhere near 2 million- 3 million equus!", don't worry! Your luck is bound to be different and do keep in mind, I did not use the free rolls, as I completed it all at once. Not a necessarily /fun/ promo, but not too shabby..

Spent 90 passes and won Liten along with Seth.

The new game character's name is Emma.
The tuturial great although it is tedious for a player who knows everything, but it seems like it will be perfect for the new players.

So you choose your horse, and the tutorial says it is Emma's horse. You have the horse give birth to 2 twins, a male and female. Same coat as the mom. Then, the adult horse... leaves... Emma takes her horse back. I agree with ilove horses, it is tedious for a new player, but I can see how it will be helpful. I love the new login page. Emma give you a pass, but you have to use it on a fertility wand. Side note: The last pic has a typo, right? Or am I seeing things?

Also, I don't like the fact you can't do anything without doing the tutorial. You have to finish before you can actually explore howrse and try things.

I also don't understand why they would take my first horse away... After all, I did spend a pass on that horse.

You'll notice that they've now limited which coat colors you can choose.

Likely also a way to limit abuse of the system. I personally approve of this change. Allowing players to select rare coats gave those who were "in the know" a notable advantage if they chose to sell their starter horse.

the two foals you end up with are still foundations. You breed them from Emma's horse "gaia" and a public covering from "ouranos" and they look just like any other foundation horse in terms of genetics, parents, etc.

You need to put in an email. And it has to be an email that hasn't been used for Howrse. Just in case if anyone wanted to know.
Also the tutorial explained more things like skills/time for the horse/energy....

I am on board 3 and so far I have spent 365k on rerolls and around 14 passes. The first board I messed up on, forgetting I had to get the keys, so I really could have spent much less then that but there ya go. Just saying before you freak out. I love the reroll feature, I don't think that was present in previous ride promos? Anyway, love it. Funny how much easier it is to progress with a bunch of passes . Now I need to get like 200 before promos. #HowrseGoals.

To complete in 1 day, I spent well over 1.5 million equus and roughly 90 passes on roles.

Tutorial. It is not telling me what to do next and Em is not saying anything but See me on G's page to continue her training. What should I do? I am stuck between the store errand and whatever is next.

To finish all seven boards, I spent a total of 1.8 million and around 73 passes. That was without detours for extra prezzies and a few wrong turns. Wish I could give you guys screenshots but I cant go back to the boards.

I forgot to take screenshots until the last board but here it is, for what it's worth.

I spent 100 passes, which gave me 300 rolls. Of those 300 rolls, I have 19 left, but I think I got about 20-30 extra rolls from challenges. Equus-wise, I spent 1.3 million. I probably would have spent more, but I didn't start using re-rolls until Board 4.

Getting the keys was hard, since the rolls were totally luck based.
