The new breed offered in the event is separate from what breeds the divine gives. All 3 breeds we get from the Pastry Divine on INT (I'm assuming you'll get the Curly, Quarter Horse, or Mustang on this server too, since those breeds are already here), are US breeds.

Though I suppose it would have been nice for the new breed to be regional to the US as well. I would have loved PoAs since I'm crying for some more spotted breeds, and that would have been a great opportunity for a breed with an entirely different graphic. But I wonder if the reason why they didn't do that is that it could set the trend for releasing a new breed for each Pastry divine contest. Which would mean coming out with lots of breeds in short intervals. I'm still surprised we're getting a new breed so soon after the Kerry Bog

I'm sure the only reason we're getting this new breed is because it's already on a new server

Hello Legacy Ann!
Next promo

Alebrijes Piñatas

The contest is based on the same principle as previously, but with a few changes. The theme is based on “Alebrijes”, those brightly colored Mexican folk art sculptures of fantastical creatures.

Concept
Players click piñatas to open them and receive the prizes inside. The more they progress, the more interesting the prizes get.

This time, the Piñatas represent Alebrijes.

Jackpots

#20: Midir from the Celtic divines
#16: A Falabella: Tiny

Changes since last time:
A meter on the contest page displays the number of clicks left and evolves according to the “recharge time” and the total number of clicks available (which are reduced/increased as the player progresses through the contest)
When the meter is empty, players can fill it by 50% by paying 1 pass
Objectives have changed, as have their rewards in some cases.
Players can find points for the piñatas in the Golden Fleece on the weekends.

This year, again, we introduce a brand new customization item: Catrina’s brooch. It will be on the Black Market on a specific weekend, but players will also be able to win it in the Piñatas contest.

There are 4 different coats, themed on the Day of the dead. When a horse gets one of the 4 coats, it also gets one of the 21 alebrijes piñatas as a companion

This item will give the horse the following bonuses:

Stamina: +5
Speed: +5
Dressage: +5
Gallop: +5
Trot: +5
Jumping: +5

Please Note: The companion awards an additional bonus to the horse between 2 and 6 on a specific skill, depending of which companion it is.

Those new companions are NOT included in the Companions trophy.

The Day of the Dead is going to be represented with the new item! I have always been very drawn to the Day of the Dead, namely the dress and decoration, so I cannot wait to see these coats come to life on Howrse. This will be one of the first, if not the only, specialty coat item collection I actually want to complete! About time!!

Agreed about the divine, I'll be spending mine on the Broche de la Catrina, though I'm wondering how just 4 coats and 21 companions are supposed to not drive someone crazy...what if I want them ALL but not multiple copies of the same coat? They didn't think about that, did they...

So disappointed that they went and made adjustments to a pretty decent promo - the pinata promo was one of my faves, but now we have to get points in fleeces instead of hops? That's just ridiculous

is it worth trying to get the divines in the TC, HoP, and reserved sales?
I prefer the reserved sales -- you KNOW you will get the divine --- and I, personally, have horrible luck; so I refuse to try luck items .....

ohhh? i got both, Quinn on try one and the other on my second try

That's each player's personal preference. Personally I really dislike going after divines in Hops or Fleeces, I seem to have a little better luck with TCs, but I also feel you get better overall prizes through the TC compared to Hops or Fleeces.

When you open a fleece, you have to decide whether you want the prize or the points for the pinata. it is not points in addition to the usual GF prize! This also means that the number of points you get will depend on how many stars you uncover! So yeah, if you get 3 stars you will have to choose between that MA or the points!

Could we agree that the progression of events lately has been slowly increasing expenditures?

I know we have more opportunities to earn more passes than we did years ago, but once they're spent on a event there doesn't seem to be much pay-back.

Depends entirely on the event. They are still averaging 20-25, that isn't really any sort of change over the past several years. Pretty sure I spent far more than that when I got my first divine, think my second was around 25, and I have spent way more than that in other promos over the last two or three years.

I spent a lot a Christmas promo several years back, aiming for two divines and may many gifts and would have said the amount I put in was well worth, the current promo I would say the same of.

That is true. But again, like you've said above, 20-25 is still quite a bit and that's the divine in isolation. That has remained relatively the same.

I'm thinking more about the BM items. At times, particularly when a calculated chance is involved, the trade off for the event as a whole isn't worth it.
T0WELETTE

Not necessarily, many events give BMI along with the divine for that 20-25 investiture. Typically you're guaranteed 15-20 passes worth of BMI if you are aiming for the divine, not /every/ event, but the majority of them.

Even this current event if you're aiming for the divine you'll also be getting dozens of other ingredients you can use after getting the divine to get other prizes. The Tyron games offered various chests that had a variety of BMI in them. The last time the Elemental Mine ran also had dozens of chests even if you were aiming for the divine.

Do they always equal out? No, but that is why players should evaluate a divine before considering finishing the promo. Is the divine worth the passes you are going to spend? When I look at a promo, I don't typically care about the prizes it is going to give me, I'm not going to spend passes on it unless I am going after the divine, then I start making calculations.

The last Wandering Horse promo for example was quite expensive I think it cost me 30-35 to finish (yay for diamonds) but it was a divine that really offered things I wanted, and the few top tier prizes that were in there along the way made up for it. The Scale I got from that promo turned into Hops to get another divine I wanted later.

20 passes is about right for one divine over recent years.

This promo you should expect to pay 20/30 for both of them which is a lot cheaper than usual. If you use your diamonds for some part then it becomes even better.

This is also one of the better special packages we have had for a promo in a long time. Overall this is the cheapest promo this year.default smiley :)default smiley (y)
