Wow, well, I do not really want the visible tack. I really hope we have a choice of tack or no tack. Also, I am actually looking forward to the EC update. Seems nice.

I loved the Horse Parade. For me, it was fun, entertaining, and now I have enough BMIs to cover it. Some people (It seems the majority on this forum currently) didn't like it because tack was hard to get, and, of course, it was boring to some. But I enjoyed it very much. I'm one of the people who really wanted the visible tack, because I had always dreamed it would be possible.
Wolfheart77, this is a pixel game. I do not expect the pixel horse to be damaged from having tack on it. Furthermore, there is no chance of the tack "snagging" on anything. If this were a totally realistic game... Well, it wouldn't be as fun as it is. (Plus, in real life, you would have to put tack on it every day, any way. You'd have to clean stalls, brush the horse, clean it's hooves... and, of course, the tack would wear out, you'd have to clean it once and awhile... it's really not realistic in some cases, making care of horses a lot simpler. And unis don't exist in real life.default smiley (y))
Please don't take any offense I don't mean any that's just my opinion.default smiley 8-)

I believe I heard somewhere (I can't vouch for it's accuracy, though) that there would be an option in accounts to turn off tack.
The only thing I don't like is the bonnets, which make the horse look goofy. But that's the only thing.

Quartz is the only gemstone in which the hair color doesn't match the body color ;o
I really like the graphic for Onyx.

Ugh I detest the EC change so much please Howrse let the ECs be.

All I'm saying, ~*Star*~, is that the proclaimed reason for adding visible tack was to "make [the game] more realistic" and the same thing for the EC update. If the visible tack is to make it more realistic, maybe we should have to take the tack off at night, clean the horseshoes, etc. and have to replace them every once in awhile. Of course, the better tack stays longer, and the EC tack gets renewed by the saddler/farrier...
As for the EC update, if it is to make it more realistic, the jobs should stay and possibly add a new, exclusive one: Driver or something along that line who helps the draft horses in the EC. Unless, of course, we get drafts as breedable horses. And by "exclusive" I mean "people have to have 240 days seniority to be a driver and it pays more"
That way, the job market will be healthy again and people will be *proud* to have them in their EC's. If the reason to get rid of the jobs is to make it simpler on the players, my suggestion is to make the players hire temps, like we had to back when I had 50 days seniority and barely had a farrier, so I had to work in my own EC and hire temps for the HRI.

It seems to me like it's one of the other divines all over again in my opinion too Hallaloth, which ever one gave the UFOs with the possible diamonds.

Why not do one that gives a hestia's gift once a month, or some other BMI that you can't buy once a week? Even do one that gives Diamonds when it breeds with other horses with a limit on how many times it can breed in a given time frame (with maybe a 300 GP or a GP similar to Qillin). Even one that gives a diamond when it comes in last place with a limit of one diamond once a day or once every couple of days? Or one that gives you x number of diamonds each time it wins a rosette? There are a lot of possibilities that people haven't thought of yet.

Actually... Star and Wolf...

Tack and horseshoes used to wear down and need replacing every so many days on the international server when it first came out.

To prevent faster wear, you had to clean them every day, but when the tack broke down, you had to replace it.

Of course, there was also a veterinarian then too, hence the pay gap in the EC jobs.

Not to mention, you had to hire grooms or else horses got sick.

There was also a period of time when you had to buy wormer for the horses.

I welcome the change to the EC's. It'll be something new to learn. Some people hate change, and i'm one of them, but maybe, just maybe, the new EC format will encourage people to take better care of their centers?

hvtgrad05 Thank you default smiley :)
I was going to point out some of that myself. When i first started playing, you had to be wary of the EC you put your horses in because if the meadows were not clean the horse would get ill, then you had to buy medication for the horse.
You had to clean your tack daily or it would wear out at a rapid pace and fall apart and fall off your horse. We had salt licks, ( I think it was salt lol) there was more to care for the horse daily, and weekly.
SO yes it has gone through a phase of extreme realism, then as new players joined and found it difficult to understand they started to simplify things. So a touch of realism with simplicity in the care is not a bad thing.
By Retired breeder, March 12, 2014 04:20:47
Thank you for the backup, and yes, it was a salt lick default smiley (lol)

I think the update to the EC's will encourage players to take better care of their centers... maybe. Maybe not.

Actually, rewards for providing amenities would be nice, like rewards for providing showers and carrots, etc. I'm not going to complain about lack of fertility, as I find the less fertile the field, the more energy my horses gain in total from feedings. I pay more for feed, but I find it to be worth it if I'm BLUPping or selling coverings. it's one of those things that most don't notice.

Actually, having the option to pay for carrots in addition to having some centers offer them would be nice. By the time most teenagers and working adults get online, all the centers that have them, without the horses being top of the line, are usually full.

Just saying.
The job market on howrse will never be what I consider 'healthy'

I am exceptionally grateful for the Farrier who has stayed with me for five and a half months, but I cannot get a R.I or a groom to stay longer than four it seems. . . I get everyone wants the higher pay scale, but even top pay for Saddler is less than 300e three parchments (which are easier to obtain) provide more than that. I will be happy to see the jobs leave.

I remember having the oil cloth or whatever it was to keep tack from breaking down, and muddy pastures meaning sick horses. the random factor of that was annoying, and was a nice change when they removed it. Visible tack, in my understanding, has the option to be removed. . . really it will not bother me >.> All my active horses get GAs anyway.

In the jobs market I've been considerably lucky to only need the occassional temp employee. I've had one R.I. that has been with me since June of last year. Talk about loyalty default smiley (lol) The only positions I ever need a temp for is farrier or R.I., and then it's not too often. I also give top pay, so to move on to the 'higher paid' positions would be a pay cut for at least ten days or longer if the new center they go to doesn't give the raise. I always offer top pay to hold onto my employees. I also have a mission with my center to help foals with foal games and young horses head toward 100 BLUP. I like to think that my employees that stick with me believe in it.

This is not an advertisement. I am very picky about who I let board.

I think it was an oil cloth that we used way back when to slow the dessintegration of the tack.

I also remember that you had to find the salt lick before it became available to the horse.

I even remember there was a time when there weren't any carrots on the game! When they finally became offered, you had to have a bunny in the box as a box companion in order to use 2 of them. Eventually, the bunnies got released to allow carrots be freely available with a +6 energy instead of the prior +3. The bunny companions were replaced with the companions to do foal games and other bonuses.

I remember the diamond apples and how long they were available, and why they were taken off (Glitch).

Ah, howrse's memory lane...

hvtgrad05--default smiley (lol) There is a Wind divine that gives Hestia's Gifts.
By Retired breeder, March 12, 2014 23:33:33
Does anyone know if the draft horses will be given to everyone for free or do we have to buy them?
Will they be in our breeding farm and available to to take care of like regular horses?
How about breeding. That would be epic.

I could rant all day about the Ec updates but I will gradually post on it.default smiley (lol)

Other than that I am really pumped for the draft horses.

@ Wolfheart77 I totally agree on the drivers. It's a great idea.
Does anyone know the Wild that will be in the sales tomorrow?

There is no way of knowing which wild will be offered in the sales tomorrow. They are going in a random order, but I'm assuming, all but the current two and the next two will be offered in the sales at some point during the lottery.

Also, upon further inspection, I believe the switch to the treasure chest does not come until the horse parade... just a theory, unless it already happened?

Phantom - I completely forgot there was a wind divine that offered Hestia's gifts! Thank you for the reminder!
Actually, I think the wilds are being put up in sales in the order they were originally released. However, as I never really paid attention to the wilds when they were released I cannot actually say if this is true or my mind just having fun with me.

Something interesting that we should all be aware of for those that don't know..

Hello,
To resolve some consistency issues in the horse sales and the trophies, the priority rules for the customisation items have been reviewed.

Starting now the coat you’ll see in your horse will always fit his specie.
When you give your horse a special coat, if he is already wearing one, the new item erases the old one. (Image & bonus) For instance, if you want to give a Medusa’s Blood to a horse wearing a Golden Apple from the “horse” species, the Golden Apple will disappear from the horse at the moment he becomes a Pegasus.
For all the horses that are already in this situation, the Medusa’s Blood is removed from the horse and placed its owner’s inventory. If you are concerned, you have received a private message.
It isn’t possible any longer to combine the bonus from the special coats (Golden Apple, 5th Element, and Bewitched Pumpkin). Consequently, we have reviewed the bonuses given by special coats as follows, so that they remain interesting:
5th Element:
Earth: +8 in Dressage and + in all the other skills.
Air: +8 in Jumping and + in all the other skills.
Fire: +8 in Speed and + in all the other skills.
Water: +8 in Stamina and + in all the other skills.
Metal: +8 in all the skills.

Bewitched Pumpkin:
All the coats from the Bewitched Pumpkin receive a +5 bonus in all the skills. The bonus specific to the bat coat is combined with it.

The removal of the Pegasus wings from horses wearing coats that do not fit with their species is only applied to the Golden Apple and the Diamond Apple.
The other coats either have a coat available for each species (5th Element) or do not have any corresponding images and are left as they are.

It remains possible to put the Medusa’s Blood on horses with a Bewitched Pumpkin or Hidalgo’s Splint Boots as they do not have a Pegasus version of the coats.

Special cases:
When a horse equipped with a Harmony Pack loses its Golden Apple coat because a new special coat or a Medusa’s Blood has been applied to it, it must be possible to reuse the Golden Apple provided by the Harmony Pack for free on that horse. For instance, this is already the case for when a horse loses its Golden Apple coat when you remove the wings or horns during some events.

Removal of the wings on a Pegasus, removal of the horn on a unicorn.
- If the horse had a Golden Apple (retired or not) or a Diamond Apple: The item is deleted.
- If the horse had a 5th Element coat: the item remains but the coat changes to fit the specie of the horse.
- If the horse has another type of special coat: the item and the coat remain as there is no distinction of the specie on these items.
Normally this should already be the case.

Where did you find that at? I haven't received anything to that degree as it says in the message, and I have multiple horse apples that are pegasi and have no wings.

Wow well I REALLY want the visible tack I'm extra tic about it but there are some who don't want it soapy they should make like a on or off button for it or something le that so if you don't want it you don't have to have itdefault smiley (ow)
That will make competitions more interesting if we lose the ability to double up several coat bonuses...

seconded

I'd be glad to see jobs gone too. That's about it for the new updates that I like.

It will if we lose the MB bonus.

There are times when I don't particulary want every horse to show their winged status.

I wonder how this will affect the coats that will be offered from the creation space?. Are they trying to get rid of the regular GA coats

Hallahoth,

they are not being put into the sales in the order they came out. Chincoteague wild was the first to come out, and it was in the sales this past week, like three days ago or four.
By Retired breeder, March 13, 2014 05:22:06
Cyberhorse - it will not affect the creation space. They are not getting rid of horse golden apples. They are just saying that we can't apply medusa's blood after a golden apple, only before. I was a little confused at first myself and had to reread it a few times to make sure I was understanding the changes.

Basically it goes something like this if it were written out as a mathmatical problem:

Horse X MB X GA = GA coated Peg

but

Horse X GA X MB = regular peg.

It's a timing issue. It also means you cannot take a GA and apply a fifth element, or a fifth element and put a golden apple, without the second bonus canceling the first out. MEdusa's blood is mostly unaffected by this, unless it is on a horse, pony, or unicorn that has an unwinged copy of the GA.

I hope I explained that correctly default smiley (lol)
