I've been through a lot of changes (obviously at 1200 + days ) and I'm still here, but we do not all have to like ALL the changes ----the only one I have had issues with was losing the companions -- and that was only because it ruined several of my good horses ... that being said -- it's ok to disagree and not like everything -- we are all different
BUT this change may truly kill my love of this game --- I left Everquest II for 2 yrs too and came back recently -- the reason I left after 7 yrs of continous play ? .... ONE too many changes ..... I rest my case

I agree that some of these changes will be challenging, but some Howrse players will figure out how to overcome them just as they've always done. I played on Howrse a while back and took a break because I lost interest and time. But I was still there to witness some of the more major and non-major changes.

I know that the changes will be hard for some, but they will be overcome, and I think we should focus more on the positive points of these changes.

Does anyone have more information on the draft horse rumor? If and when they are coming to the game, or if not, what the next breed will be and when it will be released. I may have missed it in previous conversation, but there's a lot of pages to scan through. Thanks!

I know Howrse is releasing draft horses so...could you competitively breed them, not just use them for ECs? I love draft horses passionately and I would give up Paint horses in an instant. Thanks.

vlasc- I'm not from the test server. I'm just using the facts I know already. And, farming is changing, the whole EC is changing! You need them to plow the fields, etc, so I'm assuming they'll be used to get farming done faster.

At this point we have no information about Drafts, only that Howrse was considering releasing in some form, into the game. There is a toss up whether they will be an actual breed (which, I still say with the current system would not make sense) or have them just be an extra 'item' like Calves for cutting.

I also want to say thanks to our testers! I know I would not have the patience! And thank to those that always keep this server as up to date as possible, it is nice knowing of things ahead of time.

I'm on the test server (INT). Here is some info.

Things we are testing right now:

Removal of infertile meadows, removal of turnips, removal of flax (not flax bedding), change of mash, addition of alfalfa, carrot with +8 energy, buying fodder/oats from the store, Unicorn teams, team ranking changes, slight changes to the starting tutorial, removal of cleanliness in meadows.


Things we are NOT testing as of now.

Draft horses, locations for your EC, merge of reserves, merge of inventories, missions instead of lessons, etc.

New foal games are being written right now. You can't give mashes to horses under two, so the schedule has been completely redone. Your foal can be overweight (making it even more difficult to make game schedules). Fodder = 1 equus, oats = 2 equus, carrot = 20 equus, mash = 50 equus.

What so you will have to pay when you use a carrot? I thought that the EC would still supply those?

They do (they can also supply fodder and oats) but you will be able to buy carrots from the store when the updates happen.

I believe the idea is if the EC is not providing what you are trying to use, you will have to pay for it. So ECs that manage themselves accordingly will be in extra high demand as Equus savers >.> makes you wonder if they should not consider upping the EC boarding cost a little >.> ECs currently anyway cannot pay for their own management with only the income from their boarders, will be interesting to see how the economy works out in the long run.

I had orginally quit howrse when they came out with the new looks for the horses. I loved what French Trotters looked like before but I came back simply because I couldn't find anything else I'd like default smiley *-)
I've seen a lot of quitting contest kinda stuff so I feel like the more howrse changes. the more they lose, but I don't know how many people join after the changes either, I see a lot of new people also so I'm not sure
