Does anyone have tabs on what the PREVIOUS lottery looked like, or the most recent one? I haven't been on in years, default smiley (lol). To my understanding this upcoming one will be a little different right?

As a player of various games over various mediums I understand why people might prefer that sort of statement over 'never'. Though I am curious if it was really an Admin that stated 'never' towards those requests or players just naysaying. I remember players wanting Winged Unicorns and Drafts, but admittedly didn't watch the community enough to be able to say I actually remember (or don't remember) an actual game Admin stating it was impossible. But then I pretty much avoided the idea's forum once I rolled onto the US server.

As I step back and just watch communities in general, I can understand why people use blanket statements like 'never' Give people an inch, or an inkling of something and they'll take ten miles and make a mountain out of a literal mole-hill. I've watch misinformation, not just on Howrse spread like wildfire and cause a lot of unneeded communication and drama that I am sure even if developer's don't publicly acknowledge it, are very much aware of and it takes time out of their day keeping themselves informed as to how a community is reacting.

There are several (fairly) recent examples in gaming lately where the other end of spectrum has effectively destroyed the potential a game had when too much was promised and not received when player's expected it. Even when those problem's were corrected, I can think of one big example in particular where due to broken promises and misunderstandings, most players haven't gone back to give the game a chance. My guess is most developers would rather not promise anything and if they can make it happen, it makes a nice surprise for their community.

Back on the original topic of Spoilers however.

Halfway down on page 708 on July 10th Cyberhorse has a posted breakdown of the next promo to which you are asking about. I am not sure how far back it was since you last this particular promo to know what differences you are trying to iron out.

The clover shop I have never heard of.. default smiley (lol) Was that implemented in 2017? The lotteries I experienced were simply lotteries.

They implemented the clover shop over that last few lotteries. So when the lottery gets underway you can win clovers along with tickets and BMIs. Potentially you could win enough clovers to "buy" the divine with them. You can also get some decent BMIs with them

The Tryon Games

The concept relies loosely on the “ride” contests but there have been many changes.

The main idea is: there are several boards, with increasing difficulty. You progress with a pawn and roulette spins.

There are different types of squares: some give points, some give gifts, some make you move forwards/backwards.

The goal is to win enough points on a board to win a Cup. Once you have won the cup on each board, you obtain the divine.

How it works

There are 8 boards in total + 1 for the tutorial.

Each board represents a discipline from the World Equestrian Games: Reining, Endurance, Dressage, Cross-Country, Jumping, Vaulting, Para-equestrian and Carriage.

When a board is completed by accumulating enough points, you win the related cup. The boards increase in difficulty and some boards require you to have won a certain number of Cups to be unlocked.

You have to spin the roulette wheel to progress forward (by 1 to 3 steps). You win roulette spins by:

- logging in each day
- in the chests you can find on the boards
- purchasing them with passes

Pieces on the board

The player sees a gauge that has to be filled to win gifts – once it is full, you also win the cup related to the board.

(It is possible that you don’t manage to get all the points on the first run. In this case, you can go through the board a second time to get the missing points)

There are different types of squares with different effects:

Demonstration
This brings you points for the gauge

Bonus/Malus
You move forward or backwards a certain number of squares

Objective
You have to complete an objective or way for a certain amount of time to move on

Teleporter
You can teleport to any other teleporter on the board.

Chest
It opens a chest with random gifts (there are 3 types of chests, wood, gold and crystal)

Boosters

To get more points/gifts faster, you can use the Encouragement booster to transform the 3 squares in front of your game piece into a Teleport Point, a Crystal Chest, and Demonstration Square +15.
**The effect lasts only for the next move that your game piece makes.**

Winning the Divine
Win the cup on each board to obtain Mahuika

Divine.

Click to display
Mahuika has a tiki you must fill with mana.

For that, you need to observe 3 turtle nests per day. And find out if there are any baby turtles:

1 x = 5 x mana
2 x = 20 x mana
3 x= 80 x mana

When the tiki contains 800 x mana, Mahuika will give you a gift:

1 x Fire element

Players are not given actual dates when promos start. Typically they start on a Thursday, this has not always been the case in the past. They have not always done so in the past. Players need to be patient. There are many people who complain of back to back promos happening way too often, enjoy the break while we have it and enjoy your game.

It could be they needed to change their usual time tables in order to keep things like maintenances and updates without interfering with the start time of a promo. It could just be they are giving us a break. Maybe some future update is changing how promos are run that they are adjusting and planning for in advance. We don't know.

I found a glitch! When I bred my mare, I gave her a fertility wand then a Hera pack. Guess who gave birth to quadruplets! default smiley :d default smiley :d
I just checked your horses and it looks like you bred your mare twice, with a wand the first time, resulting in 2 foals, and a Hera pack the second time, resulting in two more foals default smiley :)

Cakes!

The contest is based on the same principle as previously, but there have been changes to simplify it.

The jackpots are Fairycake and Cupcake, first pair of divines of the new Pastry divines series.

Concept:

The aim of this event is to collect ingredients and use them to bake cakes in order to obtain the gifts or ingredients they bring.

Some cakes bring items, some bring ingredients and some (the Cupcake) fill a gauge to reach the divine.

At certain points during the event, players have the opportunity to buy packs of ingredients on the Black Market.

How does it work?

Obtaining Ingredients
The player collects ingredients:
at the first connection
by completing daily objectives
by baking them
with packs of ingredients on the Black Market at specific moments

[NEW] by recycling the divine ingredient (the cupcake) to obtain butter

Baking Cupcakes

The player bakes a cake by putting 2 ingredients in the bowl.

[NEW: there are recipes with two of the same ingredient]

They see which item is obtained with this potion and they validate to brew it or cancel it to try another recipe.

Discovering a recipe for the first time unlocks it. Unlocked recipes (+ how many times you made them and how long they take) can be seen on the gifts page. There is a new horse breed in the gifts.

[NEW] After a few days of contest, all recipes are unlocked for everyone on the gifts page.

The cakes take some time to bake, and it increases every time you make this recipe again.

Boosters reduce the baking time by 2 hours. (Boosters can be obtained at the first connection, with the daily objectives, bought, won in the collections)
The player has 3 bowls and can bake 3 cakes simultaneously.

Daily Objectives

At the beginning there are 2 daily objectives that bring ingredients and gifts for the contest, and if they reach the Community goal of baking enough cakes, they unlock a third daily objective.

The Divines

You need to bake the divine ingredient: cupcakes.
Every time you take a cupcake out of the oven, 1 point is added to the divine gauge.
You first start with Cupcake which requires 50 cupcakes.
Once you have obtained him, you can progress further and obtain Fairycake (which also requires 50 cupcakes).

Collections

The collections include the ingredients you have to bake yourself and give additional gifts.

Changes since last time

- You can make a cake with twice the same ingredient (eggs + eggs, butter+butter). The result is another ingredient.

- You don’t need to make a recipe with the divine ingredient anymore. Once you get one (cupcake) it automatically fills the gauge to obtain the divine horse.

- You can recycle a cupcake into butter if you change your mind and don’t want to play for the divine anymore

- You need to prepare Cupcakes to fill the gauge for the divine horses

Cupcake & Fairycake

With this contest, we introduce a brand new divine series: the Pastry Divines!

They always come in pairs: 1 male divine, 1 female divine. Both are a version of a specific pastry.

For the first pair, we have Cupcake and Fairycake.

How They Work

They increase the chances to find sugar with your other horses during their actions (with each additional Pastry horse, the chances increase – it cumulates).

Their skills can be increased with diamonds.

If you own both, you can make a covering offer with the stallion to the mare. The baby of this covering will be a foal from the same region as the pastry.

Every morning when she wakes up, the mare gives sugar pearls that fill a gauge. The fuller the gauge is at the time of the covering, the higher the inborn skills of the foal will be.

So are these Blitzen-type divines that only help you for the promo? And if not, do they have an actual perk?
Click to display
hmm. Ok, first read through it looks like the divine perk is an extra chance of finding sugar with your regular horses. how exciting default smiley (zzz)

Second more careful read through - So, you breed the two divines together. Say they are a "French" pastry, the resulting foal will be a French breed ? And it's inborn skills will depend on how many sugar pearls the divine mare has collected ? What about the GP, it would be whatever the current GP is for foundation of that breed ? IF that is correct, it's a little more interesting than just an extra chance to find some sugar LOL

Still won't be trying for them. I'm guessing there are the usual other prizes to go for.

We are still in the very beginnings of this promo. From what I see the foal will be along the lines of the divine. We are actually making suggestions of pastries for different areas and possible foal naming so this is just too early to say much about it.
