Keep in mind that the designs they first showed us from the first horse parade are different than the ones surfacing now. So apparently they did make changes.....

I just don't understand why most of the new looks you can tell what horse breed they are. But with the mustang you can't. Can't they just take the shape of the current one and just add the 3D thing that they are doing?

Well, they may change it. There has been upset over the Mustang coat in particular both here and on INT. I believe that they do want our opinions, so if you dont like how they look, say it. (Like you are doing)

You can tell the breeds on some of them, many of them even, but it's the small details that don't look like the breeds, like the lack of feathering on the Friesians, and the choppy feathering on the Gypsies. The way the Gypsies are feathered is how the feathers should be on the friesians. The feathering on the Gypsies should be closer to what is depicted in the current graphic.

Also, the breed they are introducing should have feathering too and be much stockier. The new breed graphic looks nothing like the breed being introduced. They are supposed to be heavily muscled with somewhat short legs.

Wikipedia has a nice picture of a show quality Highland Pony, a grand champion even, displayed on the article for them. They are so muscular that it should look disproportionate on them. The graphic for them looks too proportionate to be a Highland Pony.

Here's my opinion, if Howrse wants to look at them:
I actually love the changes made to the Curly, Warmbloods (Hanoverians), Pure Bred Spanish Horse, Fjord, and the Trotters.
I am ok with the Knabstruppers, though their head looks a little big. I also like the changes to the Quarter Horse, but I do think the neck looks just a tad too thin.
I actually never liked the old mustang graphics, so I think this one looks a litter better, if not for all the contour lines and shadowing on its face.
The Akhal Teke, Nokota, and Thoroughbred are all ok, I think they look more realistic to me.
For the shetland, unlike many others, I actually really like. It would be a little better if it were a little shaggier, but oh well.
Lastly, the Gypsy Vanner and Friesian! NO! Friesians are my favorite, and now they look, I guess, less regal! Granted, I admit the old thick Friesian neck was pretty bad, but this new Friesian looks so, so blahh! It should definitely have more feathers as well, and I think its mane should be longer. Many pictures of Friesians that I've seen they all have long beautiful manes. I would honestly like to see some more shine.
The Gypsys are self explanatory. I actually really like the old graphics for this one, but the new ones don't look anything like the actual breed.
Well, there's my opinions. It wouldn't kill me to see the new breed coats everyday; I remember first playing with the first coats a way long time ago.
The majority of us voted for changing the coats, remember!

Sorry if this is stupid, but what is Feathering?? I know I should probably know this but hey! you learn something new everyday.

The long fur down by the hooves of friesians & GV's. There's a more technical way to say it but that's the best my tired brain can come up with right now lol.

Maybe they are angling towards the European look of some of the breeds? GVs are essentially 'Cobbs' aka mutts in Europe, it is really only the US that they became a 'breed' at all because of popularity for the look of them. And again I would point out, Mustang are a mish/mash of conformation. Some are absolutely gorgeous, there are some beautiful quality Mustangs out there. They also happen to be the cream of the crop and your average mustang is quite honestly not much to look at.

For example you have You have this lovely buckskin and then you have this one which looks more QH-ish with really messed up looking up legs. Just there are some lovely muscle QHs and some of them, the poor dears walk around on toothpick legs and tiny tiny hooves. It really depends on what you sample when you look for reference.

I have never ever liked the current Mustang graphic, I have always felt it looks really disportionate, so I will take anything new at this point.

I agree Friesian needs adjusted, the GV colored is alright though.

Few things Im not to happy about

the new Vanner look .... they wont look anything like they do in RL as they do now.

the visible tack update. I hope there will be an option to have it off.

The Removal of the MA of GA coated horses (before the update) I can understand it being blocked after the update but a few of my coats (and not on skillers) are GA + MB added afterward. in case I wanted to change the Coat to a Pega coat (Or Winged Uni being as there isnt a whole lot of Winged Uni coats I acually liked)

Along with the GA + MB what differance does it make? If you have a horse with a GA and MB it wouldnt effect rankings any more then having a MB + GA. the 5th Element + GA I can see, but not the GA + MB

One thing I am liking is the Howrse Parade. I can really use those EC items LOL!

With a few changes to the coat patterns, probably. No one has posted an updated foal coat.

I like that coat too! It would be very different. It would be almost considered a flaxen black or at least that's what I'd call it if I had to name it... although the black and chrome name fits too.

The new mustangs are so terrible I must go cry somewhere!!!! I own two mustangs and know many of them in real life, so I guess I know what they look like. Granted that both of mine are very warmblood looking...still, the new shape is terrible. I was hoping for more of a bulkier PSH look...
