I don't think they are going to do that. It is more likely a new introduction. When the Appaloosa was originally introduced on International years upon years ago, there were only 3 coats available! Those were the leopard, chestnut leopard, and I can't remember the other one. I think it might have been chestnut blanket. This was like in 2007. it's come a long way since then.

It is probably a new coat they are introducing (You could be right, but why would they just replace half the coats that are fleabitten with another rarer coat? Silver dapple is much less common than the fleabitten. I looked it up earlier). Some breeds with the silver dapple do not have fleabitten coats, but had a silver dapple posted, such as the French Trotter / Tennessee Walker graphic. To my knowledge, none of the Trotter graphics currently have a fleabitten variant, US or IH.

Trotters (some of them) I will miss the old pose. So fun!

Well, the thing I have to go on for this is that the code that brings up a coat as being FG is now redirecting me to the new gray, with no FG in sight
I love the new trotters! (By the way, your spoiler didn't work) Are you including the new coat?

Huh, either there is a roan using the trotter graphics on IH, or they are expanding the available coats by adding at least one or two default smiley :)
This is from INT;
Here are the culy coats and a reference image together... I can't seem to find a Dun version of the new coat for some reason.

WOW!default smiley :o I didn't realize they were soooo realistic, even the patterns of the fur match!
Plus, now the current one looks too stocky. I kinda like the curlies now!

Huh... maybe they are replacing it, but then they'd have to go in and do a few programming technicalities to change the frequencies the coats occur.

Man, and I like my flea bitten gray Shaggy. It took me so long to breed one default smiley :(

Mustang from a few pages back.

Trotter - credited to Sarah

Huh, they are really close, aren't they? Once we get used to them, we'll be able to tell them apart easier I think. The bodies are similar, but the necks/manes/faces are different.
By Retired breeder, March 18, 2014 22:40:55
And the feet are almost reversed
By Retired breeder, March 18, 2014 22:41:25
The only way I will be able to tell those coats apart is their stance and the angle their necks are on. They are actually sort of similar.
By Retired breeder, March 18, 2014 22:44:52
The hocks and ankles are also different if you look closely enough. The hocks are higher on the trotter, and much more refined, but the ankles are higher on the mustangs.
By Retired breeder, March 18, 2014 22:50:40
more observations:

The trotter is leaner, kinda like a greyhound.

The trotter's chest sticks out a little more oddly enough.

Trotter's tail is shorter.

Trotter's mane is more visible.

They are much easier to tell apart when you compare them side by side, but otherwise? I wouldn't be able to tell them apart on their own... of course, I can't tell horses apart that easily anyway as far as breed goes.
By Retired breeder, March 18, 2014 22:52:52
The trotter is also curved differently-see how the underside of the trotter slopes upwards more, but the mustang seems more curved? The mustang looks broader overall, I think.
By Retired breeder, March 18, 2014 22:57:08
I see it Ravenmoon! Kinda reminds of the difference between a grayhound and a lab, only not quite that exaggerated.
Ugh. I wish they'd be just a bit easier to tell apart, that's all.

Huh…I see what you mean by that. And you’re correct, there are subtle differences. I will be confused between these coats for a while.
By Retired breeder, March 18, 2014 23:07:10
As will I. While the differences right now are extensive, these ones are much more subtle and with similar poses. I'm going to miss the trotters trotting, but it looked strange on the TN Walkers as they don't trot, they pace/walk at 15-30mph.

Has anyone seen the new coats for the icelandics? They had to have been redone with the change to the roans and the more realistic imagery. default smiley (o)

I think I'd also like to see a leopard spotted appaloosa, Snowflake Appaloosa, a Tovero Paint, and an overo paint. Color doesn't matter default smiley :)
