So, is the Magic Ride like the puzzles where if you complete a board you get the prizes?

Dear lord! I pretty much went for the Penguin gifts, since those were the ones with the Icey's in them. Looks like I'm gonna be doing that again.

I'll be all over the penguin gifts - I'm not even going to try for the divines this year, so I'll just relax, amble around the boards and collect as many Penguins as I can. default smiley ^)

Do we have a full prize list yet for the Presents? Curious what is being tossed in each 'tier' of gift after last year's Ride.

I would much rather be doing the trip to the North Pole >.> or a Calender. Oh well, the present idea is still fun.

I read all the pages and I'm still confused. What's the gist of it?

The Magic ride ^
Since several people are asking. This is from my experience of the past two Magic Rides. Obviously there is no guarantee that it will be exactly the same as it has been in the past.

The Magic Ride is a board game. You roll dice to see how many spaces you can move; then you get to choose where to move. Certain spaces have things on them:

- presents, which come in different sizes and can only be opened after Christmas
- keys, which allow you to unlock the door to the next board
- objectives, which give you more dice rolls when you complete them.
- a door to the other boards

When you want to switch boards you must land on the door and then you can choose among all the boards you have unlocked. There are usually 5-6 (?) boards and the last one often has a large prize like a Divine on it.

The different sizes of presents have different kinds of prizes inside. Obviously the bigger the present, the better the prize could be.

Later on in the promo there has been a pack, bought with passes, that gives you some presents and extra dice rolls - which is how people can spend passes to complete the boards.

The Magic Ride is a rather frustrating promotion! default smiley xd You start on what looks like a board game and you'll have an icon which represents you. Every few hours, you can roll the die to see how many spaces you can travel on the board. Along the way, if you land on presents or ladders, you can collect gifts and accelerate your way around the board. There are about five boards, the gifts get progressively better on each one. However, to get to the next board, you have to have collected all the "keys" on your current board to unlock the door to the next - and then you'll have to land exactly on the door to travel to the next board! Many players end up circling the door in frustration, unable to land the perfect number to get them through the door. Also, you can't open your gifts until Christmas, so there's no knowing what you're collecting as the game progresses!

Thank you!

That sounds so frustrating Lipizzanerdancer. And you have to wait to open them? That's going to be a pain.
You have no idea. I have OCD. It's going to be so frustrating!

It's a lot of forward and back type of stuff, especially when you roll 1 less than you needed to move to the spot you wanted. default smiley :s

brebre12345, the Lipizzaners will be using the same graphics as the Purebred Spanish Horses.

Pity. At least they are using their closest relatives, but I would have liked for a different graphic. Due to all the breeds that went into developing the LIpizzaner, they don't look much like the Iberian horses any more (PSH).

More Lipizzaner information (from the top of my head, I'm obsessed with knowledge):

Each Lipizzaner can trace to eight stallions. (Six classical, two modern)
Each Lipizzaner has up to three brands. One on the flank (hindquarters) has a crown with a P on it if they were bred at the Royal Stud in Piber. One on the Barrel under the saddle has two images which represent the foundation stallion that they can trace back to on both the sire (father) and dam's (mother) family. There is also an 'L' on the cheek.
Lipizzaners do not begin training for the Spanish Riding School until they are 7 years old.
Their registered names (at least the official horses) are two parts, one that lists the foundation stallion and another that honors the mares line. For example the one in Marguerite Henry's 'White Stallions of Lipizza' was named Maestro Boriana.

The stallions from their pedigree are:
(Classical)
Pluto: a gray Spanish stallion foaled in 1765
Conversano: a black Neapolitan stallion, foaled in 1767
Maestoso: a gray stallion foaled 1773, descendants today all trace via Maestoso X, foaled in Hungary in 1819
Favory: a dun stallion foaled in 1779
Neapolitano: a bay Neapolitan stallion foaled in 1790
Siglavy: a gray Arabian stallion, originally from Syria, foaled in 1810
(Modern)
Tulipan: A black stallion of Spanish pedigree foaled about 1800
Incitato: A stallion of Spanish lines foaled 1802

(Colors and dates courtesy of wikipedia).

I can see why they did it; the Baroque breeds all kind of look the same to the untrained eye, plus it isn't always feasible to add new graphics for every new breed. -shrugs- I'm just happy we're getting them; all we need now are Lusitano's and I will be a happy camper.
I wish that we could have different graphics for every breed, but I can't complain too much; we have a lot more diversity than plenty of other horse sim games.
